![]() | I'm not totally a beginner since I've done BJJ for over a year. The brown belts at my judo club are already talking about me testing for my yellow belt and I've been to the class maybe 10 times. They must be basing it on my previous ground experience.

Maybe 4 to 6 months at the most--especially concidering your previous experience. In the tourneys, just take someone down and tap em out. Shouldn't have too much trouble when you get down there. The Judoka I trained with--some were preparing for the olympics--were not too strong on groundfighting, but they could toss you pretty good if you weren't careful. Work on one or two throws--simple ones--and you'll do fine.

| Novice | Well, here in New Zealand there is a set amount of times you have to turn up and it also determines how skillful and how much practice youve had. With your previous experience I would say you could proberley shorten that, Im currently a green belt, I rose to yellow belt in about 3 months but I had no previos Judo or jujitsu experience.
