US Grappling is very sad to report that we will have to postpone the East Coast Championships scheduled for Saturday, January 25th 2003. Everything was going as planned, we had our highest preregistration to date, however we received an untimely call from the school, Hunterdon High, informing us that they have rescheduled an in school activity for the same day as our tournament. Hunterdon High would not reason with us on this matter stating that “in house activities supersede all outside events.” They offered us use of the facilities on January 26th, Super Bowl Sunday, which of course is out. It typically takes a couple weeks to secure a venue and we frantically tried to relocate.

In an effort to roll with the punches we have rescheduled the East Coast Championships for Saturday, March 1, 2003 in Atlantic City the day after UFC 41: Onslaught, which will also be held in Atlantic City. US Grappling is in contact with several Atlantic City Area Venues and a location will be announced shortly.

We have extended invitations to many of the UFC fighters and their camps, as they confirm we will be announcing their attendance at the East Coast Championships. In addition we are contacting the UFC in an effort to obtain a talent scout to view and evaluate our competitors.

The staff at US Grappling would like to apologize for any inconveniences, a full refund is being sent to all those competitors who have prepaid. We will be extending an additional 10% discount for those competitors who have pre-registered for January 25, 2003 tournament and compete on Saturday, March 1, 2003 in Atlantic City.
