Question Question????

Ok people,

I have a question for you jj and bjj people.

I don't know much about either one so what's the major difference between jj,Bjj ,and Vee Arnis jj?

I have a tape that has Prof.Vee on it and it looks like a very effective style.I'm just trying to get some info on the difference because i plan to join another school to work with different styles.

Jj is jujutsu, an art from medieval Japan. Nowadays, there are hundreds of styles, some cling to a more traditional (i.e. medieval) style, some have modernized their approach for self defence or law-enforcement use. Bjj is a Brazilian style, it focuses heavily on groundwork. Vee is just one of the many modern styles.

What's in common with jj styles is the foundation on old Japanese techniques but some have gone a long way to distance themselves from that heritage. Actually, you might consider judo a style of jj as well, it was based on jj techniques. Judo focuses on groundwork too.
