safe use of steroids in sport

I've found that based on clinical studies done with athletes there is no harm in using regimented steriod use to promote athletic advancements. you all here seems so against it and only make statements based on propaganda you have seen on 'dateline' and other biased programs.

All steroid side effects can be counter acted when taken at resonable doses. many people get proscribed testosterone in higher doses than even some athletes take them. you all honestly have no idea what you are talking about when you say that the cause 'homicidal tendencies'. your ignorance is astounding.

I encourage you to at least educate yourselves on the subject before making such statements. The only reason they are illegal is because some people abuse them. more people die of asprin and advil related deaths every year than do from steroids. and don't even getting me started on drinking. one night of drinking can kill many people, steroids won't.

let's see if it is possible to have a grown up conversation here without swearing and saying bad things and actually discuss the issue.

and yes, I did get a new name so that you all won't know that I feel this way as I have purposely not brought this up under my name I have been using for the last two years

Distanced, glad to see a similar sentiment, the nsaids arguement is one of my favorites as well to put things in perspective....

I would not worry about irrelevant individuals such as 'mr poopy'....these types are generally not capable of forming an opinion beyond what they see on media hysteria-casts...

I believe that when steroids eventually become decriminalized, it will be through the avenue of HRT.... once enough people realize the benefits, and then realize that HRT IS steroid use, the laws will change...

I must say it genuinely saddens me to see such regurgitation of media drivel...

also note- True that the rare abuse cases helped criminalize them, but the main reasons they are illegal is because the (corrupt) IOC and other sports organizations wanted the DEA and congress to do their policing for them...

its funny that in such a drug culture as in Canada and the U.S. there is still so much resentment towards steroids, or marijiuana(spellings close enough) or other elligal drugs.

personaly i dont realy think it matters if people think all steroids are bad . or even if they teach that steroids are bad. But when they start judging people for using steroids is when i draw the line.

There is no such thing as safe use steorids. of course steroids are not lethal or anything but they are subtances that can (and will) mess the balance of your body.

Seeker, this is all relative...remember, the body is an open system, it is designed to interact/input/output ... You are right in a way, but the key is:

1. Most side effects only last the duration of the cycle (ie shrunken testicles, etc...though I have never had them in all honesty)

2. Once you begin to age, testosterone replacement can act as a life-EXTENSION mechanism

First off, how is that any business of yours? I assume you are the type who feels that just because you don't agree with it, on that basis no one should have the right to use them.

BTW, even in the Sports Illustrated issue dealing with steroid use in baseball, they spoke about how it was possible to use steroids safely... get with the times ladies.
