The "spinning jump kick" is something I would never use in a fight. I ignorantly wanted to master this kick a couple years ago too until I tried using it and got my ass kicked. I would only use it as a warm-up or stretch-kick. Try using your stomach muscles as the basis for leg movement.

Maybe you should study a martial art that uses those kind of kicks?
I have tried doing spinning jump kicks and other big kicks on my body opponent bag, but they all seem pretty risky. Guess it's just because I've never been taught the right way to do them.
