Combat? that's an interesting title for a book.
What does Bas Rutten know of combat? Correct me if I'm wrong but very few elite athletes have ever been in combat. Combat is for warriors and soldiers and a few LEOs here and there. Combat on the mat is as much as misnomer as No Holds Barred in MMA. Chalambok, can you tell me what it means to be in combat? Spanky |

I dont think his ego has anything to do with if the book is bad or good but I guess it might explain the price
![]() he's rumored to make a comeback in Pride sometime this year. With the shammrock/ortiz fight it doesn't look to good for the old timers.

"I met that guy and i didnt see anything special about him! He seems like an ego maniac." -Jimi
I'm sorry, I have to agree with Jimi. I saw the Ulitimate Fighting Championship. With Rutten and Randleman (kevin Randleman). There is no way that Rutten should have won that fight . The judges took pity on Rutten, because at that time he hadn't lost in years. So, he gains the vacant UFC title (heavyweight). How does he thank them, he turns announcer for Pride.

To Kingston:
don't get me wrong, Bas Rutten is a good fighter. I just don't think he is exceptional, that's just me personally. I would rather buy sreet defense tapes from Frank Shammrock or Tito Ortiz, as opposed to Rutten. Even though, Rutten has a better record!

Oleg Taktarov, that's the Russian guy who knows Sambo. I think it's Sambo lol. I saw him in the UFC once. He is good, have you heard of Marco "king of the streets" Ruas. He protage Pedro Rizzo is very good.
