I agree with ya Joe. When I was a kid I fought alot and because my inexperience at the time I have been stabbed and jumped . I grew up and learned that bad shit happens so ya gotta be ready.
That is why I train for real and I practice full contact and no gear. we also practice with escrima and dull knives and swords so that we are at least used to the reality of paine. Sometimes it wont help because no one can stop a bullet but at least I will be able to go out with a bang.

Joes Right though. And hes giving out valueable advice who gives a crap how he acts, his advice is sound.
When I was about 13 I thought I was pretty hot shit cuase I could beat up all the kids about my ages. Unprovoked I never went looking for a fight. One day I met a ten year old kid while I was playing spaces he kept hitting the buttons and making me die .He challenged me to a real fight, and his mate challenge my younger friend to fight as well. While my mind wasnt 100% on the fight as I was worried about my friend. This little ten year old smoked me! My definition of fighting was basically wrestling around without punching well not to the head anyways. I went to tackle him .. he head locked me and proceeded to punch me in the nose repeatedly, along with scratching my neck and face with both hands. I got owned. But he was alot smaller than me and I got him off and threw him to the ground and said .. thats enough. I was a country boy he was from the biggest city in my country .. obviously he had more experience with real fighting. |

Back to the original post, hey joe.... what about a solider (that have returned from war, not the veterns.... they are too old lol) vs a thug? Althought yeah, a real fight comes down to mentality vs mentality not skill vs skill. *@#$ gotta cut this post short... i have to go now

depends what soldier..
marines army navy and airforce troops just like anyone else.. but special forces are given more training... todays modern combat doesn't really need you to be so into martial arts. with guns and knife training.. back up.. modern warfare means your chances of hand to hand are slim and are the last resort in combat. my homeboy is in the marines and he told me that a mixed martial artist would destroy a marine.. the only thing though is a soldiers stamina and instinct to win and live... people are just diffrent and it comes down to who has the heart for fighting and the experiance.. lots of soldiers can't fight..

you can't go to a dojo with nothing and expect everything. if you don't have heart or common sense in fighting then all the karate in the world won't save you. being a gangsta or whatever anyone claims to be is just hype. i've kicked the crap out of every catagory of people the same as i've had the crap kicked out of me by just about every catagory of people. i don't know about anyone else but hockey foghting isn't my style i refuse to stan in one place and exchange punches. that sounds like some early 1900's boxing to me. besides my face is to pretty for that nonsense. anywho what anyone claims to be means nothing. I really think it's in your blood either you have it or you don't. no karate will help that no hood will help that either

that's true in a sense..
ok, lets say you know what i know.. exactly .. fighting styles i mean.. your from the burbs.. i'm from the hood... what's will happen if we clash? i might have a gun or knife and i might hurt you cause it's like that.. you might have your dad's cell phone and call 911... its the mentality.. now let's keep the same shit.. now in a dojo or a ring with rules... you might win.. cause you probably are more focased.. depending.. or i might win.. but in the dojo you have a fair chance.. on the street you dont.. cause those are my grounds.. so it's a diffrence..
