Question What to do

Here is one for ya. I have been studying a very combative sytem of Tjj for awhile and I like what I have learned. I have recieved my shodan in the system and was looking forward to the future lessons. Well my instructor went on a trip to train in colorado for a month and came back talking about a whole new system. actually it is an old system but new to us.
So anyway He trains with a guy named Brett Denison and has changed everthing . I like the new stuff even though its not quite as combative it is still good teachings that help perfect the princaples of Jujitsu but I would like to continue my ranks and training in the one I am more familiar with.
My question is should I Just stick with what Sensei teaches now and deal with it or should I make an issue out of it.

I am curious and please don't take this the wrong way, but why are you concerned about where you rank in a system? Shouldn't the most important thing be to improve your skills and enjoy your training.

Partly true
If you have to start from the beginning everytime you switch then you will be learning the same techniques over and over instead of going to the more advanced techniques

One question for the Original poster what grade can your teacher claim in the "new"style was his grade validated by the "new"style? or did he also start with a white belt
Oh actually a traditional Jitsu style shouldn't have kyu/dan grades
In the Netherlands 20 years ago there still was a cherryblossom system

I answer to the ranking system we have belt ranks in the order off white, yellow, green, blue, brown and then black but Sensei said there are only four ranks after that instead of the american ten.
My problem is that all though I keep my rank I cant learn anything more from the original system I started in. I like the new things we are learning but I still want to continue with the old stuff. The actual rank means nothing its the knowledge that I am concerned about.
As far as my instructor's rank in the new system I believe but dont quote me that he is a menkio shoden
