What language and what art? different arts sometimes have different meanings for the same word

Fujin is one of the oldest Shinto gods and is the God of Wind

Red face

Oh... Well, I've played a game called "Dead or Alive 3" where several martial arts moves used these words- one of which was called "Senko Izuna" and "Izuna Otoshi". I know that "Otoshi" means drop, so I'm figured that the above means 'Something drop'.

As for Fudo and Fujin, they're from the same game- but the character who did them practiced Okinawan Karate (and both her attacks were called 'Fujin' and 'Fudo-Fujin')... does that help??

Fujin to me sounds more like a person than anything else because of the jin

problem here is the fact that we do not have the kanji of the words

Izuna:
(n) where; which direction
(ok) (n) (uk) where; what place
(ok) (n) (uk) where; what place
(n) one's seated posture
(n) spring; fountain

Fudo
(adj-na,n) immobility; firmness; fixed; steadfastness; motionless; idle
(adj-na,n) difference; diversity; irregularity; disorder
(n) floating
(n) woman's duties
(n) disagreement; objection
nonassimilation

Senko
(n-adv,n-t) all ages; great antiquity; eternity
ancient times
(adj-na,n) fine workmanship
(n) acting arbitrarily; arbitrary action
(n) batting first
(n) departure of the emperor from the capital
(n) distinguished war service; merit of war
(n) flash; glint
(n) incense stick
(n) light red

Fujin
(adj-na,n) heartlessness; inhumanity
(n) (arch) Very sincerely yours
(n) wife; Mrs; madam
(n) woman; female
(n,vs) battle formation; lineup
women's movement

Oh my gosh!!! That's *incredibly* helpful!! Thanks!!

In "Fudo", with the first definition of 'Steadfastness' makes perfect sense- because if you saw the character do the Fudo-Fujin, you'd know! (She holds back and stays still until the enemy draws closer). Thanks for that!!
