so HKD or kickboxing, I think HKD would allow me to deal with conflicts without lawsuits, so for now I'm leaning that way.

PS TKD IS OUT DA WINDOW

good. i did TKD for a year and didn't learn a thing (except how to lift my leg very high)

TKD is great if your gonna star in a kung-fu movie

of course some TKD is worse than others

the stuff i did was particularly sport oriented:
"heres what you do in a tournement where your only allowed to kick. see how useful it can be"

I'll have to look out for that program. There aren't enough factual martial arts programs on TV and too many programs on home improvements, DIY and gardening!!!

Hey crouch...

HADOUKEN!!
TIGER UPPERCUT!!
SONIC BOOM!
YOGA FLAME!!
YOU LOSE!

ok this is off topic but I haven't played an MA video game since streetfighter II in the 90's. So I go to the arcade the other day and play Tekken II and picked a thaiboxer with a shaved head. It was fun! This gangsta kid comes up next to me and asks if he can join and he picks some karate guy.

I nailed this karate character in the game with low roundhouse kicks, foot jabs and different elbow strikes (you can do spinning downward elbows!!). The karate character kept trying to ram me and land jump spining wheel kicks, flying punches and as soon as he landed (this karate whiz leaps higher than Mike Jordan) I would clinch him and throw knees. After I beat him he got pissed and said that I cheated. He then went on to say that i fought stupidly (remember, all I did was throw low roundhouses, rear push kick, elbows and clinch knees). I didn't want to get capped so I said that it was beginners luck on my part

This thai fighter in Tekken II has one hell of a push kick! If it lands, it knocks the opponent back a good 10 feet!!

sounds like a good game

but ill never know

dont have a playstation 2 for tekken 2

but i got an xbox for dead or alive 3

mortal kombat deadly alliance is quite good (but the moves arent true to the arts: the "judo" style includes punches and kicks)

soul calibre was the best fighting game i ever played

cant wait for soul calibre 2. thats gonna be good

this is off topic

No and no. Take my word for it. Try a wrist lock, and end up on the wrong end of a takedown. I've tried.

High school wrestling does not allow any moves against the joint, so joint locks are out.

They also do not allow striking which takes away many of the setups necessary to actually pull off some of the locks on a resisting opponent.

Pressure point can be used if they are well hidden. Blatant use of pressure points can be ruled illegal.

Some of the throws might work but you most likely have to modify them to make them legal.
