Contrary to popular belief, Muay Thai fighters don't kick trees to harden their shins. Hard shins are developed by kicking the heavy bag 100 to 500 times a day. In between several kicks, you'll want to massage your legs to get the blood flowing again. Also, the point about kicking with the shins... you want to impact with your lower shins.

sounds good, then I'll try to do that 500 kicks at once? or like 100 in the morning, 100 at lunch 100 after dinner, 100 in the evening and 100 before bed?

I know of Kyokushin karateka kicking a lamppost as the final stage of thoughening the shin, it starts with a cardboard tube or a Cola bottle

How about those karate guys that break baseball bats with their kicks!? saw it on TV once... ...funny thing was... it didn't break on the first attempt!(you could hear the sound too!)... imagine the pain... then having to kick it again....sick
