| Registered User | Renzo Gracie popped up at the Pride show where they announced the Grand Prix and he said that one of the Gracie clan would participate in the tournament. I have been on the lookout for this info and I have not seen anything about it (I'm guessing Royce, but one of the "younger" Gracies may also appear.) As for Rickson, at about 44 years old, I doubt that his body has what it takes to stand the rigors of a full contact tournament (no offense meant to Rickson, he is one of my heroes.) But, he has mentioned the fact that he wanted to fight again before retiring, so you never know, he may be the one that participates in the Grand Prix (keep your fingers crossed. )

![]() | This came from today's Wrestling Observer website. www.wrestlingobserver.com --Pride held a press conference earlier today with the surprise announcement that Hidehiko Yoshida is official for the 8/10 middleweight tournament. Yoshida said he 15-17 pounds over the weight division right now, but he'd cut 25 pounds many times for judo competition so that won't be a big deal. Nobuyuki Sakakibara, who runs Pride, said the plan for 8/10 at Saitama Super Arena (same day PPV in the U.S.) is three heavyweight matches along with four tournament matches. Also in the tournament are Quinton Jackson, Vanderlei Silva and Kazushi Sakuraba. Talked about as possibilities for the other four slots are Ricardo Arona, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (the twin brother, not the famous one), Murilo Bustamante, Alistair Overeem, Kiyoshi Tamura and Ryan Gracie. He also said that Dana White of UFC has agreed to send a representative. At this point, this looks to be the greatest tournament in MMA history. Smiles everyone, smiles ![]() |

![]() | LoL Royce fight again?? He is a cool and respectable guy, but I think he is way past his prime. It would be interesting to see another Sak/ Silva fight, and if Sak could come up with a viable game plan or just end up with another bloody face.
