Also ki doesnt only have to be used in medical science...I think you can manipulate the energy to use as what youw ant to use it as. Just my opinion. peace

Please please please get an education. Western science is more familiar with what is visible?? What planet do you live on exactly? Ever hear of microbiology? Quantum physics? Yeah, exactly. And I think the "Western science" is pretty up to date on blood flow. And yes, its true, air is transparent--but modern science can tell you what molecules are in that air, air pressure, and just about any other attribute of that "invisible" medium. So why can't scientists measure the invisible chi? Oh, that's right--because there is no such thing! And it does not make your punches more accurate and powerful. Your nervous system does. No one punches harder than professional boxers. They do not believe in magical forces. They believe in hard scientific training. Go and try to use your ki against a real boxer. His very real muscles and very real hours of brutal training will hopefully knock some reality into you.

wtf are you talkign about I train in a boxing gym. You make an assumtion that just because I pracice qui gong that I believe in magical stuff...and as long as it helps with my training whats it got to do with you. And don't tell me whats real or not, because it's my opinion and mine alone. Plus I'm not really fanatic about ki but I had experiences with it, and do qui gong. And I do feel it has increaed my health and state of mind as well as helping my training. that's the only reason why im wasting my time trying to argue aganist ppl who think its some fantasy shit. Well, you don't agree with my opinions, that' totally fine, I just wanted tell what I feel is right about ki. And you're not an scientist, you can't prove or disprove ki, so why make claims that it's fake when you dob;t know about the subject well. I said look intot he concept of free energy if you wanna learn more abotu where ki comes from. I'm not going to bother trying to explain anymore. I mean yeah people do all sorts of ridiculous demos where people stick them with spear points and hit them with swords and whatnot and apparently they don't get hurt. But magicians do this sort of thing all the time. They're just stage tricks. Think about it for a nanosecond. If someone could take a spear point in the gut without any harm, it stands to reason they could take the punch of a heavyweight boxer without harm. So they could let Lennox Lewis hit them with everything he's got, then zap him unconscious with qi. Then they are millions of dollars richer. People could rob banks and deflect the bullets of the police. Now, so far as I'm aware, we're not living in the matrix. Therefore, such feats are not possible.

Not stage tricks, just tricks.

They put the spear on their neck then slowly move into it. They have toughened their skin so it doesn't kill them but if you stab the spear into their neck then it will go through just like anyone else. No qi, chi, ki, force or spirit involved apart from making the person confident enough to try these stupid feats in the first place.

I pointed out the fallacy of this line of thinking by saying that it is easy to prove that something does exist but very difficult to prove that it does not.

I then made a statement to prove my point it sounded something like this:

"I claim to be an evolved form of lizard. If you can find some articles on the internet to prove me wrong then I will consider changing my beliefs"

It was however cleverer than that because I used his own words to show him the error of his ways (this is not an insult, I am merely suggesting that he is wrong, I am NOT saying that he is a bad person).

There is no need to delete this post, it is not insulting, contains no form of swearing and it is a valid point that improves the quality of the discussion: It is hard to prove non-existance.

Ummm, no humans cannot channel "free energy". Don't go grasping for straws here. You know zero science but you want to drag free energy into the equation? Do you even know what that is? Well first off, its not even proven. Secondly, the hypothesis is something along the lines of that any point in space has some small probability of underdoing a quantum fluctuation where it goes from being a vacuum to being filled with a small amount of energy. They get around the violations of thermodynamics through Enron type accounting. So if you sum up all the vastness of space, even if only 0.0000001% of space is randomly generating vacuum energy for free as it were, that is an unbelievable amount of energy. The problem is figuring out how to harness tiny bits of energy spread out over the vastness of space. Now its not a totally whacko idea, NASA is even investigating it. That said, your body is not a vacuum. It is most certainly occupied by matter. As are all the point adjacent to you. You do not have any organs that can harness energy from distant points in space. So, once again, no, you don't have any ki.

That said, I totally believe your practice of ki exercises helps you. Visualization and breathing exercises have been shown to have very good effects on atheletes (and anyone else). But you are changing brain chemistry, not harnessing balls of energy from the depths of space. Why is it so hard to accept a rational explanation?

Wow RobertG you sure do know alot about science. I too am interested in science.

We all agree that belief in ki can help people so it would be kindest to just let him believe. We aren't going to change his mind like this.

Perhaps one day something will happen to him that will stop him believing, after all I used to believe in ki.

I wouldn't instantly discredit qi (and all it's other variations) simply because modern science has 'proved' it doesn't exist simply by not being able to measure it. Having an open mind is what leads human beings to try and solve mysteries or prove old theories wrong. For a long time people believed the world was a flat plane and people who challenged this theory were ridiculed. Western Scientists came up with this theory. If you keep saling thing you will sail off the end of the world. And don't forget the sky is the realm of the gods and if you look into it then you will be punished. Science has come a long way since those times but there are still things that we don't fully understand or understand at all. And there are things which people believe in worldwide such as God that science hasn't proven or disproven. All I'm trying to say is that people should keep an open mind to things and not try to shut down every single person who attempts to have their say about an issue. All it shows is that your acting like a
close-minded person who takes other peoples word as gospel.
