Sorry Thai

The original post on this forum was any comments on Dim Mak. I just thought the martial artists on this collumn were open minded enough to learn something new or at least respect another practitioner's view of a studied subject.

I wholly agree that it is mumbo jumbo in that there is no way that you can strike someone in one position and then die seven years down the line of the same injury... THATS ludicrous!

By the way, Karate (Japanese Martial Art) was meant to be used as a no-weapon martial art hence the interpretation "Empty Hand", Aikido (Chinese Martial Art) used by the samurai was used with swords and empty hand alike so not all martial arts were meant to be used with weapons. Unfortunately, some persons not having studied the arts of others (myself included) are not privvy to the more intricacies of the other's art, all I can comment on is what I know and what I have learnt through years of training.

RobertG, I see from your profile that your Martial Arts are the more grappling and close range persuasion and, of course, you have the view you do - that is understood.

I, on the other hand have studied Karate, Aikido, Tai Chi and Jiu Jutsu (a practitioner a many, a master of none), ranged and close in but not as much grappling as yourself so from a grapplers point of view I respect your opinions wholly and without prejudice.

Almost there - From this discussion I believe that there will always be a place for Dim Mak in myth and maybe only practised by a few but constantly learning it's wider aspects. Some are against the idea but the fact is that it exists and is practiced whether it works or not is the folly of the attacker.

Finally, I'm in the Armed Forces also but do you see me bragging about it... God help us!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

To answer your question I do know about pressure points. I took aikido for a long time and have a black belt in it. We focused alot on pressure point to break holds. Unforetunately enough these don't work that well against someone that has done them before and is familiar with the pain. After doing aikido for several years I was almost uneffected by them anymore although they were still painful.

There are alot of people out there in a fight situation who have very high adrenaline levels and when they get pumped up they almost feel no pain at all. I know that pressure points can be helpful but there use for real life is very limited.

You can suck my ass Bi Bri. You are the one that started the arguement about saying the military training was not good and trying to call me out. I told you that I served in the military and I had been through the course and that is the extent of what I told you. I was trying to tell you about the course and what all it involved. You start talking shit to me about it and if anyone wants to talk shit go back and read when it started, I was merely trying to say something and this guy starts calling me out cuz he's a little bitch. I am the kind of person that is not going to sit around while some pansy is talking smack to me, I am gonna stand up and bitch slap you right back in your place. You can't deny that you have been talking crap cuz you come out when the other guy said he was making 2k a month and you start talking about how that's nothing cuz you make twice that.........well I make twice what you make buddy so roll that up and shove it up your ass. If you don't beleive me you can call the company I work for. I am the head of electrical design for North American Shipbuilding which happens to be the largest privately owned shipyard in the world. I am not trying to brag about that just stating a fact and if you wanna call and check me out I'll give ya the number cuz I have nothing to hide.

Falcon its nice to know that you've got a great job, but roll with the punches - since they are not real ones, rather psychological.

OK so Thai Bri says you take candy from kids for 8K per month.

You don't have to get into a train wreck, just impress us with your southern couth or witt.

Falcon's response: Lemme learn ya a thing or 2. When you buy candy for your kids, you'll know why it says 'Made in LA'. And I wonders why I aint seen the '03 book of British smiles......

Where is the smooth LA wit?

You have been to south louisiana before you should know that we don't sit around making up come backs all day and thinking about witty things to say because we don't talk trash all the time. If you have been to south louisiana you would know that people down here have high tempers and we fight alot. I don't particularly care to fight now that I have gotten older but when someone talks crap to me like Bi Bri is I will damn sure stand up and knock them on their ass. That's the way I am like it or not.

"You can suck my ass Bi Bri."

I knew it. You outwardly homophobic types are closet homosexuals. Come on, Falcon. Get outta the closet. Be yourself man! You're not some great Para Trooper now! You're on the way to being a multi millionnaire!

Yes. Its bloody pointless, isn't it? Unless the post your replying to was way back in the thread or something. But he quotes even when he is replying to the very last post? Is that daft or what?
