Nothing wrong with an HCK.

I like the fit of my Atama better. I guess when they are making the top, it's
more to my frame. Fit is really good...........Although on mine, the sleeves were way too long and I had to tailor them a bit. But much better than the other gi's that shrunk and were 2 sizes too small.

I got an email from Luciana at MKimonos and it was good news! I placed an order for a Hybrid weave and because I always hated waiting for Christmas to roll around, I sent payment for 2nd day shipping at the cost of $25. Well, I got an email back from Luciana and she told me that regular shipping would make it to me in 2 days anyway and she refunded me $15!

WOW! Thanks customer service! She could have kept that $15 and I would never have known. Luciana and MKimonos have earned ALL of my business in the future.

Did I mention that Luciana is H-O-T!!!!! Man, honesty, kindness, and beauty! Luciana's husband is a LUCKY man!

Ok I now have a white Gameness Gold weave in my wardrobe and felt that a review was in order.

I ordered the gi from www.mmagear.com for $99.90. I had some issues with the ordering process. Firstly, I got message on my answering machine from the credit card company regarding some possibe unauthorized purchases. I call the credit card company... and apparently whenever you buy something internationally with a VISA the credit card company automatically calls to make sure it was you that made the purchase and not some international hacker. While this was not MMAGear's fault, it would have been nice if they gave some forewarning, as this sounds to be a common occurance with credit card companies.

I am not done with mmagear yet. So after I made the purchase, the website said I would get notification within 24 hours that the gi had shipped. I think about 3 days went by and I received no notification. I emailed mmagar asking what was going on and why my card was charged $105 instead of $99.90 (shipping was free afterall). It took them more than a WEEK to answer my email. They said that my order had in fact shipped, and the extra $5 on my bill was from the credit card company itself, which charges a %5 fee to authorize international purchases. All this confusion could have been avoided if they had provided this information at the time of purchase.

My grade of mmagear is: D-
(the only thing that spared them an "F" is that the gi actually came)

AS FOR THE GI. I really like the gameness. Like many others have said the collar is really thick, thicker than the Howard double weave I have. The gi is pretty light which made me think that during rolling it would stretch and become soggy, however this did not happen. After a couple hours of training the gi still retains its original form! But the only thing I did not like about the Gameness is the skirt. The material is different on the skirt, which isn't a big deal, but the length of the skirt is what bothers me. I measured the length of the skirt and it's about 3 inches longer than the other gi's I have. This is not a big deal... but I personally like less useless material hanging around my waste for the opponent to grab. That being said... the sleeve length is perfect and the armpits and chest are cut well.

The pants. I love these pants. They don't stretch and get soggy like Howard pants, and they aren't rough and hard like the Ouano I have. The waist ties are not skinny little things but thick round chords that are very sturdy, they do not come untied. Also, the knee padding is located on the INSIDE of the pants and runs all the way down to the bottom of the pants. Very comfortable.

I give the Gameness an A-
(would be an "A" except for the long skirt)

I really like the Gameness, but I would advise you buy it from the US distributor, due to the difficulties with mmagear.com
