DO YOU WRESTLE A WOMAN THE SAME WAY YOU WRESTLE A MAN?
DO YOU GO HARD?(FLAT OUT LIKE A LIZARD DRINKING). DO YOU GO SOFT?(MORE TECHNIQUE).

Man or women, technique should be what you are trying to do. However, if you feel you are still over matching your partner, then limit your attacks. For instance: Go for arm locks only. Attack only the foot. So on so forth. Women do get a small handicap because they are weaker. But the truth is, does that matter? it shouldn't. You should be relying on your technique alone because there is always someone bigger and stronger then you to muscle you around.

Im just trying to get a post going. Of course you are correct in saying technique is everything,it's Bjj, its pretty much everything. If i get a roll that lasts for 45 mins or for an hour it has everything to do with tecnique.I've been tapped out by women and men as long as no one goes home injured and they enjoyed the roll as much as i did, i've had a good night.

How do you wrestle women?
This is what many would like: You’re paired up with a gorgeous lady. The two of you roll around and you frequently get mounted or put into her guard. There’s also frequent contact with your bossoms... Later that night, you can’t help but reminise about the great workout you had. This is what really happens: You feel awkward wrestling someone’s mom, especially when they’re in the room too! You go through your motions half-heartedly trying to avoid certain manuveurs... In the end, you almost feel violated, because an older woman took advantage of your generosity.

1. in class you fight in which ever way improves both of your fighting ability, sometimes use your strength to help her learn how to deal with it, other times use pure tech. your both there to learn and that is the goal.
2. in a tournament or fight, you unlease all your skill supported by all your physical attributes(e.g. size, strength, speed, etc)to end the match/fight as soon as possible. if a woman chooses to grapple with you it is disrespectful to "GO EASY ON HER". |

Unless you are severely outranked, it is only beneficial for the woman who grapples with you.
If a woman outranks you, she will whip you. But if you are the same rank as she, her ineffective strength will not present much of a challenge for you. The saying, "Don't use strength" is over-used. Helio developed that "don't use strength" style because he HAD NONE ... and passively getting dragged around was the only way he could survive ... riding out the storm ... as he certainly wasn't going to outmuscle anyone. So, in a sense, Helio was like a woman. He had to rely much more on technique than strength. Anyway, you should just look at yourself as "helping" the woman when you grapple with her. Do NOT go easy; try to whip her. This is the best help you can possibly give her ... because no one who is going to try and rape a woman (if she is there for self-defense) is going to take it easy on her, so why should you? Further, if her technique improves to the point she can fend you off ... or (God forbid) catch you a time or two and make you tap ... then you will have given her an invaluable service by earnestly trying to beat her ... because she will have learned true technique to overcome it ... and even if she always loses to you, she still will have a valuable and realistic impression of her skills at that point, what it is like to be dominated by a man, and she will know what she really has to improve to cope with it. So in a sense you are almost in a teacher's role ... again unless she outranks you. If she outranks you, then you are faced with the prospect of getting tapped by a girl ![]() Jack |
