I would train with that guy anytime but just cause he can make and 8yrs. old do push-ups don't make him tough. I have trained with many TKD guys and have seen Master Lee who is a grandmaster in TKD, Judo, and Hapkido. I was impressed about the Judo and Hapkido but not at all about the TKD. You think you train hard come down and train with me and you'll be running home after a week.

But you really need to come and train with my club judge for yourself instead of just standing there acting like you know crap about the martial art...... see if you can get your hands on "NK ITF DEMO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GREECE 2003"
This is exactly what i mean, dont kick now do 100 push ups.

What a dick head
stupid intructor.

I would love to kick his ass being lkike that to kids.

You see int MT the training is hard and if you train hard you get respect, you dont get made to do crap like that.

It does work against 8yrs. olds apparently from what I hear on the board. You guys have seen the videos of what TKD is meant to look like. I have been to many NHB events and even fought in one or two. What TKD looks like on the videos and in class is not what it looks like in the ring when it really counts. I have not seen one TKD guy come in and win yet. If the style is so effective why don't you see TKD guys going out and beating other arts? Because it is inferior to most other arts.

So, I guess if you like picking on eight year old kids and trying to hit each other soft enough not to draw blood then go ahead TKD is the style for you, but for me and all other hard core martial artist will stick with stuff that works.

Ok u missed what i was trying to say... the child did not do the push ups cuzz where he kick or cuzz of my instructor on male PMS........ it was cuzz he didin't lesson! cuzz he disrepected my inctrutor and his teaching.

..... the reason you don't see taekwon-do in tournements is cuzz the instructor shy away from non ITF if grappling is involved...... I will admit TKD has no chance in a grappling match.... cuzz in war it wasn't fight on the ground it was kick in the head when they go down snap his neck. we are never taught how to fight on the ground we r taught how to take someone there and keep him there

yeah thats funny man TKD is not used in war if you dont know.

TKD was invented in the 50's

They had guns then, proper ones.

Even in hand to hand the Korean used a different system. not TKD

So suck my fat one Acitic

Need to clear up why the ITF was formed.... the masters who made TKD disagreed on a kick... the siccor kick where u kick upwith one leg then kick it to get it higher...... ITF said that was not to be done......... the WTF said it was ok

No, I didn't miss your point. The point is that the instructor spends too much time "punishing" a child harshly for being a child when he should be trying to teach. If I was in that class I would have bitch slapped him and you know what he would not do a damn thing about it.

The reason you don't see TKD in MMA tournaments is because they don't stand a chance. You are dead on that TKD does not have a chance against Grapplers but you forgot to mention that it doesn't have a chance against most martial arts either. As far as I knew TKD was never taught for the battle feild....I beleive Ghost is right on that point. Facts are facts and TKD is not self-defense it is a sport.

Nuff said.

I am not being mean on either but you guys bring points that are null and void and try to tell us this and that about TKD. You don't understand that people like me and Ghost are in our 20's and started doing martial arts when we were children. I started martial arts when I was 5 and have been doing it ever since. I know what works and what doesn't. TKD doesn't work, the system is not that good.

K seiously guyz we r fighting over styles and that is stupid...... styles matter nothing cuzz new styles r made all the time that is what the filipino martial arts r making your own style.... but seirouls i don't believe that we should fight over which style is better than the other. It is training and willingness to learn. Styles mean nothing.... We all use the same tools..... like i study TKD(no da) but i still use MT elbows and knees my friends have showed me....... so styles can be mixed

I am going to stop arguing aboout how TKD is not effective or if it is...... i am going to go do speed drills and then come to some of your tournements and prove it isin't that sucky lol peace guyz.....

THANK YOU!!!!

I wouldn't go to your tournament because:

1. I don't want to make you guys look or feel bad.

2. Pads are made for girls and most of them only wear them once a month.

3. If I wanted to see high kicks I would go to a saloon and watch the women.

4. I would probably get in trouble for trying to change the style and make it better.

5. I would rather go NHB and actually have a challenge.

6. If I stay more than an hour they might make me do a belt test and I really don't want a TKD belt.

7. If I kick one too many times your instructor might try to force me to do some push-ups and I really don't want to hurt him.

8. One of my freinds might see me there and I would never be able to live that down.

9. I wouldn't want you and your class to be forced to sit there and watch me take home the first place trophy.

10. I would probably be forced to associate with TKD people because they will not quit coming up to me asking where I learned to fight like that.
