Jump kick protects the base leg. And can actually improve balance if done properly. With no foot on the floor if you get hit you worry about recovery by trying to get a good base when your feet hit the ground. Have to be careful against grapplers with that because they will try to grab rather than hit or push.


I like spin hooks to the head because they strike the back of the head and usually even if blocked strike the head with knockout force. Most people tend to move the wrong way and get blasted even harder or they just stand there and get hit.


To block head kicks its usually better to be in clinch range. Or as a defense use a front thrust kick to waist or lower (teep).



I take kicking very seriously and know when and how to throw kicks. Even ones that would usually get you killed. It's all timing and judging what the opponent will do.

yes, jumping up and down is smart, especially when the low kick gets you when you land...

WTF taekwondo is very good if u go to a good school but some schools are whack becuaes there watered dowm buy some dumass Master that got his belt through the mail oh and ITF taekwondo I think sucks becuase its basicly Tangsoodo and any thing light contact is gay

WTTF tkd does not use punches to the head.. and well.. can it be called full contact when you are wearing a huge west... and a lot of protective gear overall?
