Did anyone notice how Kimura passed Helio's guard? Very cool. He clearly dominated the fight.

It is BS that he had better "fighting will and spirit." If I fought a 10 year kid and toyed with him, but someone said, well this kid had more fighting spirit, I would be pissed.

Rorion should run for a political office. He can spin anything.

As far as the missing tape goes, I believe that this is all that exists of the fight or at least is publically distributed by the Gracies. Unfortunately, I don't think there were any Japanese news crews there with cameras.

My favorite part is: "One instance, Wushi-Zima, a two time champion, was aroused by a commotion in the nearby woods"

He practiced takedowns on trees at midnight??? I wonder if he actually took them down (i.e., uprooted them) or if it was just the early stage of the takedowns he practiced...

Cakegirl (going downstairs now to do 1000 pushups)

in those days, they did not have coloured (yellow, white, blue etc...). they only had white, brown, balck. getting 3 dan after 3 years was the norm for University students that studied under the founder.
the existing so glamorous black belt TMA belt is a concept new promoted by non-jap instructors.
