I think Sapp could put up a fight, but I don't believe his jaw will take the pounding from Tyson.

For those of you who saw Hoost Vs. Sapp in K1, you'd agree that Sapp, for his size, can't take much punishment. Hoost is a great fighter, and extremely tough, but he's far from a freakish level of strength. His stand-up technique is oustanding, and that's why he wins fights. Tyson, IMO, has more punching power than Hoost, and Hoost was stopping Sapp with his punches, as long as he could connect, which he couldn't really because of size difference.
The question is: Can Tyson actually hit Sapp without taking a pounding in return? If he can, then I believe he will knock Sapp out. If not, then he's gonna have to get a sponsor to put an ad on the bottom of his shoes..

I don't think Tyson has anything to fear from a kick boxing bout. After all, those pissy kicks above the waist are so inneffective many bouts insist on a MINIMUM kick count to force the guys to use them.
Thai? Well, then things get a little harder for Stinky Mike. Full MMA? Goodnight Mikey.....goodnight. |

This is interesting, so if its a boxing match Tyson will win easy.
Hes one of the best in the world, its amazing to me the amount of people that dismiss him, right now he is not the best, but one of the best. He has the experience and the skill to beat Sapp. I expect that Tyson is fitter than Sapp as well. Its not really a question and Sapp would be stupid to step into a boxing ring with Tyson. Sapp is great for MMA, Boxing......no chance. At his speed he wont land a punch on Tyson.

Tyson will win via vicious KO in under 30 seconds. Probably under 20. Sapp cannot take a hit. Kimo damn near knocked him out, and Kimo doesn't have anywhere near the power as Tyson. TYson also has a great chin. He was beaten severly by Lennox Lewis, but he still lasted until the 8th round. Sapp cannot punch anywhere near as hard as Lewis. Tyson's speed, footwork, and technique is obviously far superior. Sapp tires extremely easily, so if he lasts after 30 seconds, he will be so tired, his life might literally be in danger.
Tyson's first flurry of combinations will end Sapp in under 20 seconds, IMO. |

Well, I just finished watching the K-1 Battle at the Bellagio event, and I must say I'm impressed with Kimo's ability to take a beating and still stay somewhat concious..
![]() As for Sapp.. what a pussy cat.. A quick left jab, and Sapp was out like a light, if Tyson is as conditioned as he used to be in his prime, he would make short work of Sapp in boxing rules. And if he were trained right, I think he can take Sapp in K-1 too, however, his inexperience in a kickboxing bout would put him in a massive disadvantage. And MMA? Forget about it, Sapp will just lay on top of Tyson and Mikey would suffocate..

the ones with Pride. So he does have a weak chin, but I thought he quit because of an eye injury. In Pride Sapp, looked unstoppable but now that I have seen clips of other K1 figths, he has been wobbled before. But like a big tree, he needs several direct shots before he starts wobbling. Is sapp allowed to lean on Tyson in a boxing match,,, like a clinch with one arm and a hammer strike with the other on Tyson's head, whith him trapped against the corner ?? WWE style fighting against Tyson's technique?? I hope this fight happens. It should be exciting. |

If you dont like Tyson thats besides the point.
Its just logic. If they fight in a BOXING match, Tyson will win. He is still one of THE BEST in the world as his world ranking shows. So how can Sapp beat him. Forget who you prefer just be logical. Its a dumb question in a way, but has been worth asking none the less.

For the umpteenth time..it is not a boxing match...
It is going to be K1 rules...not grappling not boxing not mma...K1 Which means it will be Kickboxing...which gives the advantage as many have said to Tyson since it is a boxing "Style" match..however just keep in mind the low kicks...I would just love to see Tysons face when he came in and recieved a low kick by Sapps tree trunk legs. As for Drocb.. My feelings on this are simple.. Most of your points are valid except for the one where you say that Sapp can punch no where near as hard as Lewis...you have to be kidding my friend..the main way that Sapp has stayed alive in his carrier is becuase he hits so hard...Becuase he doesn't have to hit you that much but when he does it does the deed... Now if you want to talk endurance....you should talk about Tyson as well his last four matches he has looked like a slob...he has been winded and no where near the outstanting footwork and technique people keep talking about. I am not saying that Tyson will lose this fight what I am saying is people are giving him far to much credit and Sapp far to little... On a side note if you go back and watch The Lewis Tyson fight, yes tyson lasted till the eigth but only becuase Lewis(Who I can't stand mind you) was being lax...he could have ended the fight in the second if he had pressed him.
