    Bob Sapp vs Mike Tyson!

    "Mike Tyson Challenges Bob Sapp
Published by Matthew Boone on 08/16/2003 at 01:44 AM

At the K-1 pay-per view on Friday, Mike Tyson, who was in attendance, jumped the rail and confronted Bob "The Beast" Sapp after his knockout victory over Kimo Leopoldo.

Tyson challenged Sapp to a gloveless boxing match right then and there, but Sapp then said he would fight Tyson in a boxing match, K-1 match, or MMA match. "

I HOPE TO CHRIST Sapp pounds Tyson so hard he never tries to get in the ring again.

That's a funny joke. Sapp would not stand 20 seconds in a boxing match with Tyson. Sapp is a big mouth and it would be better he worked on his techniques than in self-marketing

    A. It's not a joke..The fight is going to happen.
    B. I think that Sapp can hurt him.
    C. I think this is a great move on Sapp's part. Win lose or draw he is bringing a great card to K1 and going to make some serious money.

Tyson will last no longer than 1 min.
The Kimo fight was the first that I've seen
    in which
    Sapp actually got knocked senseless.
Those direct shots had all of Kimo's wieght behind
them. Somehow with the help of
the doctor stoppage??, Sapp came through.
Go see the tapes for yourself.

Tyson is a boxer (undefeated world champion over many years). Sapp is nothing in boxing. Can you tell me how he could win ??
Maybe he puts a horseshoe in his glove ...

    Tale of the Tape

    Bob Sapp
    6'5"
    350 lbs

    Mike Tyson
    5'10"
    230 lbs

Despite giving up a major size/strength disadvantage, Tyson has INCREDIBLE speed, a good jaw and historically had precise defense.

Tyson will slip and bob his way past Sapps reach and unload viscious body hooks and uppercuts which will hurt the beast early in round 1. The beast will go for a clinch and try to weigh down on Tyson to ware away Tyson's power, then hit from the seperation.

Tyson will use good footwork, balance and his shoulder to disengage from the clinch. Sapp's punches graze tyson and rock him (as they did Hoost), but Tyson counterpunches a flurry with one or two shots that land on Sapp's jaw.

Tyson wins by KO, 2:30 Rd 1.

I still believe this is a dirty joke
Why should Tyson do this? In a regular box fight he can make a million dollar (since he lost against Lewis he has to bake smaller rolls).
A fight with Sapp will just help Sapp's popularity. For Tyson this a loss/loss business. His boxing collegues will just skake the head ...

First and foremost Tysons speed is not incredible and his defence especially in his last three fights has been FAR less then precise. You are honestly giving Iron Mike way more then he deserves...Undefeated World Champion for a good while...thats fact, I can't argue that point. But are we really dealing with that Mike Tyson? Are we dealing with the twenty year old boxing machine that you people seem to still belive he is? No where not. We are dealing with a "Former" Heavy Weight Champion who has done little in the past five years besides get lazy, run his mouth and GET BEAT UP! The entire reason Tyson is going for a fight like this is becuase he can't get a fight in the world of boxing anymore. No one wants to waste there time on a loud mouth, cry baby has been.

As far as Bob Sapp not being "Anything" in the boxing world..Fact Sapp has never been a pro boxer...But he is a pro fighter...and anyone who can hit that hard will always be effective in boxing...Look at Butterbean! And as far as his stand up skills go, On friday night when he knocked out Kimo he did not look so bad.

My basic point remains the same. Tyson is just another fighter now. He is nothing special...All these Fantastic and Amazing qualities you claim he has are gone...watch any of the last four fights he has been in and you will see a man who has not trained, has no endurance and has no desire.. All the man wants is to keep his name in headlines.

    My prediction for the fight....

Tyson goes in over confident and cocky as he has been in his past four fights. He tries to muscle Sapp back in to the corner and go to work (Witch by the way is the only thing Tyson is good at) but Sapp will not be muscled..All it will take is one of those Sapp meat hooks to connect and the fight will swing...I will not say Sapp will win BUT I WILL TAKE ANY BET that says there is no 1st round KO.

Tyson is not the furious man as he was seventeen years ago, that's right. You should not forget that his boxing techniques/combinations are automized. And an opponent without big boxing experience isn't able to see what is coming and how to defend. Short ending will be the result. It is just techniques (fast hands).
We are talking about a virtual fight. My ring story:
Tyson begins with power punching (uppercuts). One will reach Sapp's chin and he falls down like a wet sack of potatoes. K.O. in 17 seconds.

You my friend are what I commonly refer to as a nutjob.

you can't honestly belive that the fight will end in 17 seconds, there is no way is hell. As far as his boxing being automized I don't belive that either...he has become far more sloppy, far more lazzy, sure he still knows the combinations but he can not execute them nearly as effectivly...

As far as Sapp not being able to see "What is coming next" The man is a profesional fighter! That is what he does...Boxing, Grappling, MT, MA in general, you have to have an idea of what is coming next to survive..that was just a silly coment.

As far as one uppercut reching Sapps chin and him falling you should really watch some of the clips of his fight friday with Kimo, the man can take a punch.

For some reason you belive Sapp is not tough and you are going to be surprised.

    boxing is tyson's game BUT
the extra 150 lbs of (muscle
) ,Sapp will be too much to overcome.(I respect tyson's punching power). Sapp can take punches like no other
because of his size. All it takes is one direct hit from
    just one of Sapps punches.
Just look at Sapp against other K1 fighters.
Tyson is a good boxer, techinically better than
probably all the mixed martial artists combined
but the laws of physics is against him.

    That is my opinion.

any fighter that even considers fighting Sapp
under any type of rules has balls, including tyson,
    and has my respect.

Sapp's tecnique is horrible.. I've watched and re-watched his K-1 fight with Ernesto Hoost, and I'm still wondering to this day how he's able to survive in the fighting world. I've come to the conclusion that the only reason he's still around is because he's a mutant.

Hoost is a strong man, especially for his size, but I believe Mike Tyson has more punching power, and Hoost was stopping Sapp when he came in with punches. For his size, Sapp should be able to take more punishment, although it's still alot compared to other smaller men, it's still quite silly how easily he can be stopped..

Either way, Sapp is a mutant, and it should be illegal for a man of that size to try and compete. lol
