No link, but severely stacking them can sometimes work. Also, sitting back and erecting your posture to. It's very hard to get out of when it is actually applied.

You have to try to get your "second" arm free.

I remember reading in a bbook once that you have to get your trapped arm free, wrap both arms around the leg that's applying pressure, and then push down or something, to free the lock.

LOL if both arms are free you can continue punching.
In general (when you do jiu jitsu) a mountain position is not attractive. Side positions give you any takes (arms, legs, necks).

Try to stand up but keep him stacked, step over his body with the opposite leg of the arm that is trapped. Your head should pop out but he'll probly try to follow that with an armbar. You should try to get his leg and just sit back beside him for a kneebar.

Lean forward and put your weight onto him so he cannot lock up his legs tight. This should create some space too to either slide your head and arm out, or if you can't do that slide your other arm in and go to his guard. Hey, it's better then being in a triangle

The classic defense against a triangle is to use the arm that is through to grab the pants of his leg that is on the opposite side. You push down on that leg and pick up the head to break his legs apart. If you don't slide the other arm through to get in his guard you can rap that arm under the leg you are shoving down and turn then over to go for a side control position.

The general question is not precise. It should be: What can I do to prevent a triangle if I'm in a closed guard? Being in a triangle asking is too late.

The best way to get out of a triangle, i have found out, is to bring your free hand around to your mouth. Then bite yoru hand with all you got. Once you start bleeding drip/smear the blood over your opponent, this usually freaks them out enough for them to let go.
