Default bjj and taichi? strong?

IT seems like these 2 would be a great combination for a fighter, when you grapple there's a lot of situations where you're locked and your arms are free but cant do anything for bjj purposes and a lot of times when your arms are free to move around generally, wouldnt a knowldge of energy and pressure points be useful here, it would also contribute standup.

In my BJJ class, there are a few karate people, including me. When we grapple each other, we use pressure points. (Nothing dangerous, just painful!) It makes it all that little bit more interesting... When we grapple with non-karate people, we don't do it, because it's like a language that you have to understand in order to converse properly - and besides, it's more fun to cause temporary pain to your friends when they know it's coming but can't do anything about it!

Sadistic? Yes.

Fun? Yes, that too.

I dont know karate but I thought all wrestlers/JJers used pressure points. for example, if you are getting choked, poke their ribs to make them uncomfortable buying you half a second. also the one under the nose is good.

If you're under someone's mount, you can actually reverse them by jamming your thumb into their ribs and just pushing in an arc to one direction.... beats the hell out of 'upa'

Not allowed in competition though, and I don't think it's 'taught' in many BJJ schools... my JKD instructors showed me that one.
