How do I get into a mma competition??

I'm looking to get into mma competition but I dont know anyone who can give me info or anything on how or whom to contact to get in. I'm from the bay area, california and I dont believe there is any teams up here, atleast none that I know of... If anyone can give me any info. please do ...Thanks
