I was just looking around the net and I came across this passage:
"In a somewhat new concept, a tag team submission match was next on the docket. Two members of Team Miletich, Nate Schroeder and Kory Markham faced two members of Meat Truck Inc., John Rafferty and Chris Lynd. The concept was simple, try to control an opponent, work him into your corner and tag your partner. The fighter has 5 seconds to get out of the ring, but in that time your partner has a chance to lock in a submission on another part of the opponents body. It was different and actually entertaining. The best two of three-submission match ended with Team Miletich scoring the decisive fall after the score was tied one to one." The website is: http://www.mmaringreport.com/news_st..._52_review.htm Can you imagine the possibilities? What if NOG and Wanderlei teamed up in Pride! What do you guys think about this? |

I don't know it sounds like a match that could end kinda fast. As soon as you gain control which yes can be difficult it can all be over as you tag your partner and 5 seconds is more than enough to snap on a hold to finish the guy off. It does seem interesting though. I would like to see someone bust out a roadwarrior move though.

Personally, I wouldn't like it. MMA are not team oriented sports they are individual-one on one, so it takes away from he foundation of the sport and makes it more WWE-ist

I have seen this, and I have to say that I was a bit weary of it when I first heard it. I saw it at HOOKnSHOOT, and I loved it. They are talking about having another show with just that. I can tell you that when and if they I do I will be in the front row.
The last match that I saw had three people on each team. They are all mixed martial artists, and aren't in there doing all kinds of WWE type things. We are talking triangles, knee bars, arm bars, etc;. The cool thing about it is watching someone in the guard dragging the guy over to the other corner and tagging his partner. Well I think that you have five seconds or something like that, that your partner can be in the ring. One will hold the guy down and the other will attempt a choke, arm bar. It really is cool. I guess you just have to see it. |

they would all have to addapt their fighting styles heavily. And i think it would give a better understanding of REAL combat! Provided that there wasnt tonnes of rules. Personally i think that the majority of current fighters would have a very very hard time if a free for all happened. They just havnt got the mindset or the tools required. Cheers Chris |

10 men walk into the ring and only one will walk or crawl out. Now that will be awesome. I couldn't even imagine the injuries sustained and the blood loss. They would have to go in there with a mop and a bucket.

Last year, I fought an NHB stickfight as a spotlight during a very different tournament in Colorado Springs. It was two on two toughman, with two teams going all out in one huge ring. As entertainment is was great and hilarious, as it could go one on one or two on one at any time. There is another one in November this year.

well the idea of tag team MMA sounds very intresting but in my opinion it will never catch because it is not realsitic and unfair if one oppnent has the upper hand and then the other tags.
