The true ninjutsu ryu-ha By orang_baik - 05-22-2008 02:12 AM

=========

what is the true ninjutsu ryu ha ?

i've learnt that ninjutsu consist of many style :
jujutsu, taijutsu, kenjutsu, hanbojutsu, bajutsu, etc

so which one is the true ninjutsu style ?

is it togakure ?

imho, togakure is the basic style of ninjutsu, it contains only how to escape in different way.

so does it make ninjutsu an escaping technique only?

please make it different between ninpo and ninjutsu to make the discussion doesnt go to wide

pls help me understand this.....

Ninjutsu is all of these things and much much more. It is not simply just kenjutsu or Nawajutsu or Taijutsu like you said it is all of these as Ninjutsu is real Budo which means it must be extreamly varried. The traditional training for the Ninja would be based on the Shinobi Happo Hiken or secret eight methods, this involved training in Taijutsu, weapons, use of fire and water, millitary fortifacations , stratagy, tatics, concealment ect.
However because of the large ammounts of Ninja clans in fudal Japan not all of them would of been skilled in all eighteen of the Ninja arts for example a Ninja from one clan may be extreamly well trained in Taijutsu and Nawajutsu (rope techniques) but may have absolutely no experience with the use of shuko (hand claws) or shuriken as these were both a secret of the Togakure Ryu.
Going to Togakure Ryu, it is not just simply an art on how to escape but has a whole system of Taijutsu based around this, there are techniques in this school which involve the use of metsubushi (sight removers) against a number of attackers armed with swords but the school also specialises in all sorts of different weapons. Ninjutsu is about surrvival as all budo is.

Ninpo is the martial art of the ninja. It has no restrictions to any certain style or system. It is the combination of fighting arts and skills to include 36 essential fighting forms and weapons. This makes the Bumon or warrior gate.

With this training one will learn how to survive and defeat lifes struggles. Just as important as the physical aspects, Shumon or the spiritual gate teaches us how to live free and expand our minds to find peace and happiness to live our dreams and chosen pursuits.
