Hi,
I'm going to submit some articles to a few of the national magazines. I need ideas on what to write about. What do you think would make a good, interesting topic? Thanks, Tim |

Hey Tim, do you mean national magazines like Black Belt or Grappling? or national magazines like Time?
If you're going to write for black belt mag, why not do research, conduct interviews and write about real-life self defense scenarios that have worked from bouncers, police officers, military, MA instructors and civillians. Then analyze why their techniques worked and how they go about training. There are a few guys on here whom have seized beligerent people, worked doors and served in the military. You could do a phone interview or something. Just a thought.

Thai Bri, I have plenty to say. Just because I ask for ideas doesn't mean I don't have ideas of my own. I'd just like to hear some topics that some of you think would make for a good article.

Also, what about an article about pro/cons of combination arts. The factor of time notwithstanding, is it better to study and learn a few styles or even one as opposed to the combo. Studying the individual styles one may find techniques were missed that were better suited to them.
I know virtually all arts mix an match but I am referring to something like: JJJ vs AJ self defense sytems (fake name) where AJ says "I took the best from Judo "Kung fu" and "karate" and sprinkled on the top arnis and BJJ to make this devestating sytem." The other point is was the guy even proficient in these other styles before the merge.
