Cool h2h give it a rest!

listen bub you need to lighten up about the personal attacks! i type fast and it's kinda like thinkin' before you speak, sometimes i just type what is on my mind at the moment! take MJ's and advice don't take this stuff too seriously or your the one that is gonna' wind up with HI-bp. MJ is right i posted this hoping for a response. a lot of ppl on this site say TKD sucks without saying why it sucks. thats my issue. you and MJ have successfully defended your points. now move on about the personal attacks, you did your fair share. and h2h in your original post you began by saying "TKD sucks" if i am not mistaken.
son if you don't quit worryin' about personal "verbal" attacks your going to need to learn more than hand to hand. ppl attack me verbally all the time, case in point at wal mart the other day a woman approached me and began fling insults at me over an ambulance run i made over a year ago. apparently her husband was having an MI (heart attack) when i picked him up and the doc thrombolized him (MJ knows what i am talking about; the doc used a drug to bust the clot). he died, and she blamed everyone from EMS to the x ray tech for his death. her son was with him too and he was a big teenager with a mouth and he tried to pick a fight with me! i just walked off. apparently this woman tried the same thing with a couple of nurses and futilely pursued legal axn. my point is at 15 everything is a personal attack. you have to learn to gauge what is worth responding to.

and MJ truth be known in high school i tried out for UT football becuase my parents moved to round rock. plus i liked UT campus on Guadlupe blvd. it's a hell of a school. be safe!

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!

Cool and one more thing! (again)

Max,
i appreciate your support but i think h2h and MJ are not necessaryily impuning the art as a whole just the way it's taught and the over emphasis on certain techniques (ie axe kicks to a standing opponent; never a more useless technique for self defense). lets be clear here i am defending your point Max. ppl do jump up and say stuff sucks too often. but the differnece between h2h and MJ is they are at least justifying why they think it sucks.
and even i said (i think) that i did not care for the way TKD was tuaght in most schools cuase frankly "it sucks". and it is hard to absorb useful info from someone who, well, sucks! look at korean TKD, although some schools suck over there; they are fewer and furhter between. a EMT i worked with spent 3 years in Korea in the USAF, earned a black belt there, and says TKD sucks all the time. but he is broadly generalizing becuase he saw what TKD could be vs what it has become here in McDojo land. he now takes krav maga and bjj in OKC.
i don't think stating an opinion makes anyone stupid. sure h2 and MJ say it sucks but, they also qualify their remarks. if you think they are stupd for saying so, well, again opinion. and to quote Roadhouse (which is the bouncer's "Rocky Horror Pictureshow") "opinions vary". now if you want to say something sucks then run off without giving a reason then i will concur, that is stupid.

You got a problem with that fella, fine. But you might want to lay off insulting the Marine Corps, even in jest. Show some respect.

Juba,

I never insulted the Marines. My best friend and a partrolman on my shift are both ex-marines. They call other marines and themselves "jar head" all the time, as do I.

Max,

I will continue to say TKD that is being taught in American today is CRAP, and it SUCKS! Even my friend, who owns a TKD school, will admit that the art is so diluted down, that TKD ***ALONE*** will give students and black belts a FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY. That is why he also trained HKD, Judo, TJJ, boxing, and kick boxing. He incorporates this into his classes to make sure his students are closer to being complete martial artists, not some kata dancing fool. He is now learning the basics of BJJ from myself and another blue belt. He is evolving himself to be a more complete martial artist.

And to answer your questions about my first post to breathless. I did that for a reaction also. What kind of a reaction? The kind to make me and everyone else laugh.

Default about the corps

did n't tony swofford write a book called "jarhead"? when i was in marine jrotc in HS, our gunney refered to all of us as jarhead's. my buddy is a former marine and i call him jarhead all the time(he laffs)! i think MJ just wanted to get a rise out of me! as for me i got hurt during boot, ruptured an eardrum and lost part of my hearing from the subsequent infection (becuase i did not immediately report it becuase i did not want to be rolledback). it's amazing a fire department will clear me on a medical exam but the marine corps said bye-bye! it was the saddest day of my life! i can do anything else i want to except do the one thing i will always want to do and that is be a United States Marine!OOHRAH! God bless America and the US Marine corps!
HAppy "al qaeda free' New YEar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MJ, Happy New Year to you and everyone else!
It's great to hear that your TKD instructor friend crosstrains in other styles and even shares this knowledge with his students. That's a mark of a great MA teacher. He should be commended for this.
His actions of course do not belittle TKD. What MA style do you know stands on it's own in all ranges of fighting? Right: not many, if any at all!
If there was such a complete style, we would have known about it. Even BJJ or Thaiboxing or anything else must be complimented with something else. Do these styles suck-or are they crap-becase of this? I don't think so.
I'll say it again: For someone to state that a MA style sucks or is crap simply expresses ignorance.

TKD doesn't suck, but American bastardized TKD sure as hell does.

I guess you are right until some guy who practises "American bastardized TKD" literaly kicks your ass, or worse breaks some of your ribs, or even more worse breaks your jaw. Then you will literaly suck...out of a straw just to eat!
Think about this one bro!
Arrogance has a way of catching up with us! Remember this.
