OK guys. Serious time. I reckon its only fair to inform people interested in reality based aself defence about some of the ridiculous things that pass for "training" out there in the RBSD world.

Don't get me wrong, some of these guys are excellent, top notch in fact.

But have a good read of the site. There are some absolute looney tunes on it that will make you want to organise a convention for them, and then nuke the idiots for the common good of humanity.


People who feel you are actually SINNING if you don't walk around, armed to the teeth. They would gut you as soon as look at you with their armoury of weapons they carry in their under pants. He, the US has the Right to Bear Arms right? But that doesn't mean you have to double your weight in guns, knives, coshes and extra sharpened pens!

Those are the crazy kind of fookers that walk around LOOKING for someone to fight with. They are desperate to find someone to rip open, just s they can tell all their neanderthal chums what great guys they are.

But, and I sincerely mean this, just becasue SOME people in the RBSD world are a few cups short of a tea set, please please please don't tar the rest of us with the same brush.

What did you say about neanderthals? Neanderthals actualy had larger brains than homo sapians. And I dont think there is any evidence for them being more violent (which is what you were suggesting), in fact its homo sapians that are the bad guys, they were the ones who wiped the neanderthals out! and look at all the harm theyve caused since then. There wouldnt have been a neanderthal hitler.

Well, I really am not too bothered by your post. It is a bit humorous, so I won't knock that, though it is a bit exaggerated as well. Some times it does seem a bit dictated, but on other occassions they just don't want to put up with people's BS.

For the majority of people they don't have delusions of being attacked by the Hells Angels or being caught in the middle of a prison riot. And there are a couple who are , well.....I'll just leave it at that. But I haven't seen anyone recommending going out and ripping people apart for no reason. There are several, as well as myself, who are quick to point out certain situations that aren't actually a 'self defense situation' that are brought up on the forum.

There are definitely some good people there, and with any group you'll have a few who are more extreme then others.

Funny, a member here went on that forum spewing BS and had his a$$ handed to him. Stated that nobody has the right to carry a weapon, but then suggested using deceit to carry a bat in your car, which would be illegal in many states. To make a long story short, he tucked his tail and back peddled that whole time. And that is just pathetic.

I know I was just forced into your fan club yesterday and now arguing against you, but that's just the way I am.

Also, at Selfdefenseforums the Women's Self Defense area doesn't resemble a kindergarten playground. They actuall try to make it a usefull tool for women who'd like to find good information that may help them.

Id take that as a compliment but alas it is not so, Im too tall to be a neanderthal. They were short but very tough. Perfectly adapted to the cold climate in which they lived, Im quite surprised they became extinct.

Ken - I think its a difficult issue whether or not someone got their ass handed to them onthat forum. Who was it by the way?

But I know from experience that they change your posts, then prevent you from posting, and then argue their case against you when you are quite clearly no longer allowed to argue back.

Hardly the tactics of people secure in their opinions.

Let Rearic know I'm after a little chat with him. I guarantee that he will try to claim the moral high ground and refuse to come over, because he knows he can't win an argument without the ability to control what his opponent actually says.

Nowadays it is incredibly hard to find a good "reality" system. I have taken tons Senshido, Defendo, Systema, and have found mma arts more effective. But most sf arts are just something you learn quickly and not really dedicate yourself too. But check out Bas Ruttens lethal streetfighting.

That's the first time I hear about someone who has either been exposed to or trained in senshido claim it wasn't comprehensive. Not flaming you at all as you are entitled to your opinion but it is the very first time I hear a negative comment made about them from someone who was actually exposed to their materials (I know there's much shit being said about senshido but it is from morons on the bullshido forum who have never even seen a tape or anything else from them and formed an opinion based on nothing but the web site). Was it tapes or a seminar you attended? I'm just curious as to what about senshido you found not comprehensive?

Just curious what were the flaws you saw in systema? Did you train with a serious instructor? I heard that some russian martial arts peoples are out for the money now and would give a certificate to nearly anybody but what I learned seems to be quite usefull.....

I think we're all replying way to fast LOL i was replying to CKD in terms of having senshido on his list of not comprehensive reality systems. Just curious as to why as it is the first I hear of a negative comment made on them by someone who was exposed to their materials.

Hey, guys. I was banned from SDF last week for suggesting that going around armed to the teeth might be a little unreasonable, and a result of a lack of confidence in one's self.

I'd like to point out that I didn't name that second thread. My post was originally part of the first thread, but they moved it so they could devote an entire thread to making fun of me. Sad...

And I didn't decide not to use the name RHall after being banned the first time--I sent the password for that account to the wrong e-mail address, so I had to make another name. Anyway, that forum is a sad place that is mostly inhabited by weapon-obsessed morons who would sooner stab or shoot someone than be bumped into by another pedestrian.

Also, only now do I appreciate the fun that Kevin Green must have trolling and re-trolling this site. If any of you ever have the extra time on your hands, I highly recommend that you give internet forum trolling a try--just don't do it here.
