Fist Should you defend a friend if it is wrong?

On many occasions, some of my friends start fights and always expect me to stick up for them it seems. Most of the time I don't and decide that they can sort out their own problems. But if it turns nasty I always help. I often feel sorry for the person fighting them as they are usually not looking for trouble and seem to be nice people... or are they for getting in the situation and fighting? Do you think that it is right to stick up for friends if they started trouble for stupid reasons that are entirely wrong?

Ask yourself what kind of friend would put you in that position?

Great answer!

I have been in those situations way back when, and you should really explain to your buddy he needs to cut the shit. I would let him take care of his own mess, but I wouldn't let him get severely injured nor would I try to hurt the other person.

About any other situation I'd take a beating for a friend.

This says it all. If your friends are forcing other people to defend themselves, then you friends deserve 1) an ass kickin', and 2) a night in jail.

If you are helping them, then I'm afraid that you also deserve 1) and 2).

Get new friends.

Maybe i should elaborate. If my friends have picked a fight for no reason ill step in and break it up(Thats helping them isnt it)I dont think people should go around beating people for no reason. But sometimes your not there when it starts and you have to go and help your friends even if you dont know what started it.Personally my friends dont start shit so if they are fighting i will help them. But maybe i have more loyalty to my friends then some others do.

Dude it depends on how close you are with these "friends". I don't want my friends hurt, but at the same time people deserve (and need) to get thier ass handed to them. If the person has mouth like a man and acts like a tough guy, then they should fight their own battles especially the ones they start. I have never asked a friennd to help me in a fight at best it would be to make sure other people didn't jump in. Not really popular way to be, but peer pressure is a bitch and so is a bully.

Hand to hand relax man i wasnt directing that at you or anyone in particular. If you look in your private message you will have a present from me.

Mysticdragon.I think like that because when i moved away from my home town i had no one to back me up and it was tough.I hated every moment of it.
On a different note I also have a friend whose mouth out runs his abitlity and i always have to tell him to shut it!

ok, here's what I usually tell people I'm out with and have been saying for a while that way there's no surprises:

If you pick the fight, you're on your own. I'm not your body guard.

If someone picks it with you, I'm in.
