Well done! What you did was probably more effective than hitting him. That guy will either learn to curb his tongue if he wants to be a salesman and deal with the public or be relegated to the back lot where he'll be doing the prep and detail work. The most important thing in your story is the concept of respect and that you stood up for your mother. She should be proud of the man she raised!

As we learned as children just because you can do something doen't mean you should. People generally don't undertsand how powerful the word respect truely is.

This salesman represents perfectly the kind of stupidity which I feel should be ... painful.
