Don't you think those cars would have made enough noise to have alerted him? Even if he were deaf, he would have sensed the vibrations. M.A. training would have sharpened his reflexes and speed so he could have at least tried to jump out of the way. Instead he 's just blithely and obliviously strolling along like "the next likely target". Hell, he's just looking straight ahead, in his own little world! I can just hear him humming to himself; "Dum, dee dum, dee dum..." This kinda thing would never happen to Jackie Chan or Jet Li or Master Po...
