yea, i know you dont simply "join" the mafia, i was offering a simplistic view of a solution to the problem.

i wouldnt suggest you get involved with a crime organization anyway. its pretty stupid.

The police are NOT OBLIGATED to protect a private citizen. Contact your local police department and ask to speak to the watch commander. Ask to apply for a concealed-carry weapons permit (CCW permit). Tell them the reason why. Go buy a gun you feel comfortable with, and then train yourself at your local gun range to use it, and become familiar with it. An ounce of prevention (bullet) beats a ton of restraining orders. Forget mace because it's like trusting your life on a can of spice.
