Super Heroes (For Every Hero there is Villian)

Do u think its possible for a normal person to learn martial arts like mai tai and weapons stuff then become a hero and fight crime.

I think with advancements in technology now u could wear some kind of exoskelteon to harden your body.

it is very possible kiddo. i regularly don the cloak and fly around London solving much crime, whacking drug dealers and street criminals with my martial arts skills, it took a long time to learn to fly with out any technology but it has payed off and they call me

Could the MA's train someone to become a crime fighter

Yes and No: Technically speaking, there could be a real life Batman, or Punisher like crime figher in the world, but several questions would be asked.
1. Who has the money, time, and drive to under go such training(Please do not reply Bill Gates)

2. Technology has advanced, but not the level as you see(and probably will never be) as in comic like stories, especially concerning tight outfits fitted with super gadgets.

3. Who is Brave(Stupid!) enough to want to do this(Be constantly on the run from criminals and hit men, threaten the lives of their family, friends, and others)

I am a huge fan of comic books, animated series, and movies about super heroes, and other such do gooders, but the reality of having such individuals in our present day world is absolutely ludricrous. In the ancient days, especially in Asia, one person or a group might have been able to pull this off for a little while, but sooner or later, they would have either gotten hurt, killed, or just plain smart and quit before either of the two had happened to them. We have enough problems with Street Gangs, Drug Dealers, Prostitutes, Terrorists, Corrupts Politicians, and other such negative influnces on our society a single or group of crime fighting Martial Artists is not going to make a great impact, especially concerning the fact that we have so many Police departments and Government agencies in place to stop such people and the problems of our society are stiill so great.

The Martial Arts can help prepare a person for a self defense situation to where he or she may be called upon to protect himsel, herself or someone around them. but that does not license you to become some sort of super hero

In the world that we live in these are some of the Real Heroes, even though they may not have special powers, they put their lives and their time on the line every day for someone else.

1. Police Officers
2. Fire Fighers
3. Soldiers
4. Teachers
5. Mentors
6. Parents

Many of us when we were kids used to dream of being heroes, but the reality is that you do not have to be Martial Arts master or have Super Powers to make a difference in someone's life.

I want to end on a high note, one of the best Super Hero Movie songs ever.

My favorite superheroes are Van Helsing (played by Hugh Jackman) and the Batman played by Michael Keaton, and hopefully this upcoming Batman played by Christian Bale (is it is Christian Slater??? I have the names mixed). In terms of being a superhero, yeah, eventually you'd end up dead.

Superheroes in these movies, if you notice, the real world often gets twisted for their benefit. For example, in the 1989 Batman with Michael Keaton, he supposedly has on some kind of special bullet-proof body armour; NOW, EVEN IF they really had such armour that was THAT bulletproof, Batman still had a rubber mask over his face, so if a bullet were to smack him in the face, he'd have been a goner. Also, he wouldn't be able to fly the Bat aircraft around I doubt without registering somehow with the U.S. military or something, otherwise he'd find F-15's on his butt probably (that isn't in the movie though cuz it is fake).

Also, people who DO have the kind of drive to be real superheroes don't do it for any glory, which is why the real heroes are in the military, law enforcement, fire fighting, etc...the men and women you never hear about.

Van Helsing I think is cool just cuz I love that trench coat look and the idea of fighting monsters like that, but even that is fake; even if the monsters were real, sooner or later he'd be killed.

Also, as said above, what the heck would a superhero battle? Crime? In the movies, there is usually one big adversary that will cause the downfall of the whole city or something, unless the hero does something about it usually; even Batman, he only comes into service if the police can't handle the adversary and need a special guy to go in after him (i.e. Batman supposedly).

There used to be a rather unfashionable British comic "superhero" caled "Billy the Cat" in a town where I have worked.

Anyway, we started to get reports from low lifes about some looney dressed in black who was kicking the shit out of them. We also got letters (very badly written, bordering on illiterate) from the guy who gave himself this same name.

It turns out he was a Bouncer and Thai Boxer who wanted to dish out pain to criminals. He battered loads of em before we sussed who he really was. He got a police "Caution" (an official telling off) and told not to do it again.

Wolverine has to be one of the best superheroes of all time. Think about it. He is a martial artist, he served in the military(albeit it was the canadian army), he has kick ass super hearing, sense of smell and vision, not to mention healing powers and that adamantium skeleton with the claws. The claws are the best part. An escrimadors best wet dream would be to have something like that. Knives that never get left behind and are literally an extention of your body. lol

I'd have to say Venom or The Flash. No Superhero can kill Venom. And if worse comes to worse, Venom simply throws himself on the superhero and takes control of him, all the while acquiring their attributes.
Secondly, T3h Flash just kicks ass. A super hero that can run at the speed of light=kicks all the asses of the other superheroes.

I remember Billy the Cat and Katie, in British 2-colour weekly comics. It was very Boy's Own stuff. There was also a less popular character called "The Leopard of Lime Street", which verged on being a penny dreadful. Anyway, these characters were owned by Fleetway, and when Fleetway got bought up by IPC, Grant Morrison (who later wrote "Animal Man" for DC comics) wrote an epic superhero story featuring many of those old heroes, and he killed off quite a few of them. (Ha ha.
