Good question. Seems everyone has to do something different. There were times in my life when my job conflicted with my training so much that all I could do was try my best to keep in shape doing pushups and crunches in the morning and before bed.
Now I have a job that lets me work 13hr nights; 3 days a week. I live over an hour away from where I work too, so All weekend long I work and sleep and really dont have time for anything else. But its worth it; as I have all week long to do whatever I need to.

I do heating and air conditioning for my father's company full time during the week. On the weekends I DJ at a skating rink for a few bucks. I do promotional stuff for the school I train at part time as well. I'm currently working on my instructorship so my current jobs aren't my actual careers.
My schedule Monday through Friday: 8-5 - work for my father 5:30 - 6:45 - weights at the gym 7:00 - 9'ish - training after training I'm with the g/f usually until around midnight. It get's tough at times and I have had to tune down my social life a bit but the rewards are well worth it. |

.
. . I am simply so good looking that women throw large bills at my feet as I pass on the sidewalk. Then they swoon.

I believe if you want it really bad there is a way.
I usually get an hour lunch. I get away with an hour and 10 min or an hour and 15 minutes. So I work out for about 40 and eat for the rest. My boss is cool about it. I do mainly bodyweight exercises. But, it keeps me in shape. On weekends I practise my strikes, sparring, and everything else. It's working, so it's all cool. |

I'm self-employed, I'm a builder in connecticut. I work 7 days a week. I have a family of four, I currently study Shaolin Kung Fu and American Kempo at the blackbelt level. my wife studies kempo and tai chi and has her black belt in kempo. My fifteen year old son just earned his blackbelt in kempo, he been kicking since he could walk. I also have an eleven year old daughter who just earned a junior black belt in American kempo. We live at the dojo 5 nights a week for one person or another and our instructor has seen our dedication and has 2 nights a week slotted a private hour slot for my family to help accomodate our schedule. Saturday at 7 am. we have a one hour weapons class. life is hectick to say the least, but my family is close and my kids appreciate and respect this. So Its worth the sacrafice. 4 years ago I converted my two car garage into a home dojo. My wife ( who is more dedicated than me ) and I start our mornings at about 5 am. practicing our forms and beating each other up. this tuesday we will be married 19 years and have been together for 23 in january. I owe this longevity in part to martial arts. So thats my schedule. I guess if there is a will there is a way.
