People who are purposley obscure are usually not very intelligent, or think they are better than everyone else.

These people use general terms and short quips to sound smart but that they with hold knowledge because you "could never comprehend like they can".

These sphinx or in some cases (like on the forum) sphincter like, people give little tidbits of knowledge hoping you never find out that they really have no clue.

Beware the people who only tease you with smartass remarks, sarcasm is the sign of a weak mind. remeber all the bullies that called people names in school. yep they grew up and became forum members.

The bible divides the world into thirds for similar illustrative purposes and gives the example of "many" on the road to destruction and "few" being on the narrow path (to life)....As an example the Bible says of the great flood that "few" were on the ark, there were in fact 8 out of the entire population of humankind (for giving relation to the words many and few...) so we can understand the nature of the relativity of actual numbers.

My friend I am a Muslim and I will talk with respect to my religious views.
Nothing makes more sense to me than my religion. I will like to share the philosophy of Islam with you.

First of all half of the world is proof that there was a chain of prophets (Peace Be Upon Them). The Jews, Christians and Muslims are proof of this.

We Muslims love and respect all prophets (P.B.U.T). We believe that all they all are pure and carried the same message. This message was to worship the one and only God.

We Muslims believe that Jesus (P.B.U.H) was one of the greatest Prophets. We just do not believe that he is the son of God. We believe that Mary (P.B.U.H) was a virgin and gave birth to Jesus (P.B.U.H).
The Lord says in the Quran (our holy book). "The Lord has created Jesus without a father like he created Adam (P.B.U.H) without a mother or father and Eve (P.B.U.H) without a mother." (Chapter of Mary)

The thread starter talked about Muslim suicide bombers and the 72 virgins of paradise. First of all it is against Islam to kill yourself. This is happening in Palestine mostly because they do not have a way to fight back. They do not have a army or weapons. They use this as a way to fight back. I think it is still wrong. The 72 virgins are a reward of paradise, that is all. All Muslim men who go to paradise will get this reward. Please talk with a little more respect as well. You did a good job so far though.

So then why we Muslims believe in what we believe? In this world you can steal, rape, and murder everyone and still be treated like a king. We Muslims believe that there is an ultimate justice and that is the justice that the Lord will give in heaven or hell.

Plus it is not fair in this world. All of our desires can't be filled. Some people are powerful while other weak. Some die old while others young. Some are rich while others poor. Some are educated while others are not. There is a place where all our desires will be fulfilled and that is heaven.

This world that we live in is too perfect. We believe that indeed a creator is behind all this and that is the one God. Look at the sun, moon, sky and earth. How from the same ground comes many different kinds of foods. How perfect our body is. The Lord says in the Quran to look at all these things.

I will end with the Sig I use in my military forum. It is related to my religion. It shows some of the philosophy of Islam as well.

The Muslims believe that Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) was not crucified on the cross. They believe that he was raised to the heavens by the Lord and the Lord put someone that looked like him in his spot. There will be a day when Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) will return to this world. He will return not as a prophet but as a follower of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Upon his arrival all the world's Christians will become Muslims. After some time the whole world will become Muslim for the Lord has said the whole world will taste Islam. I can't wait for that day.

good post. i had a question though. were in the koran are the reward of 72 virigins described? so far ive never come across this information in studying islam. do u know were in the koran it can be found? or is it found in hadith? id like to learn more about the reward of the 72 virgins since here in the west, this is what people equate with the muslim religion. id like to learn more about the context in which this reward is described in so i can clear any misconceptions i have about it.

do you know what the deal is with the virgins?

I hope this link helps clarify everything my friend. I looked through all of it and it looks pretty good. I would just like say that the proof of this reward is in both the Quran and Hadith. The wordings of the Quran and Hadith talk about it for males for the most part. The Quran and Hadith talk about it as a reward for the believers ( both male and female) to a minor extent. Since it is not pacifically referred to as a reward for females a lot of Islamic scholars think that females will not have 72 men to accompany them in paradise. Even if this is so the Lord does not discriminate. In many places the Lord talks about how heaven will be equally enjoyful for both males and females. Women of this world that go to heaven will be made even more beautiful than the hoors (the 72 virgins of paradise).
