Disclaimer: I am not by any means a good dancer you can tell by looking at me, my fashion, build etc.etc. The following is a recollection from a good friend of mine who does dance.

Knowing how to dance has its downs too...

1. Women think you're going after them when you're just trying to get out on the dance floor.

Who can blame them? Women get approached 1,000s of times by drunken dudes at clubs.

2. Women you don't want going after you do when you're just trying to get down on the dance floor.

3. Most women (not all) lack partner dance instincts; some can bump n' grind decently but that's about it. Not a bad thing, just an observation.

The BEST women to dance with are those who've spent alot of time doing ballet, jazz and modern and look like they still do it. The next best are women who come from cultures where dancing is an enjoyable and socially accepted activity.

4. Well dressed women will litter the dance floor at well known dance clubs looking like they're social and got moves but will turn down your invitation to dance because they are waiting for the 'right' guy to ask them or they don't have the gaw to get on the floor without a few drinks.

Solutions:

If you can't dance, use the wing-man/point-man system. A group of you has a better chance of getting a group of them on the dance floor than a one-on-one approach. Reduces the pressure on both sides (more on theirs than ours) and it reduces your exposure on the dance floor.

If you can dance, get an average looking gal on the dance floor and make her look really freakin' hot. Then re-approach the girls you asked the first time, ask them again but more humbly and not too seriously.

That usually overcomes 3 of the 4 downs mentioned above. If you still get a no, grab the girl you first asked and make her evening!

The more fun she has, the more fun you will have.

First thing you need to know about dancing.

Broken Rythm is not an asset.

The one time in my life when a lady asked me to dance was in the summer of 2010.

That hasn't happened yet. I'll try again....

The one time in my life when a lady asked me to dance, gregimotis beat up Bruce Lee during a swap meet. The lady asked if I knew any salsa. Trying to impress her and thinking I could fake it, I said yes........

.....I was then sent to the grociery store for a can of Old El Paso Mexican salsa and about 12 other items she required I buy....

and use.....
