This proves how dangerous real fighting can be. Even a shark can't take an eye poke. Thought it was quite interesting. Like my instructor says a real fight shouldn't last more than 20 seconds.

i may be wrong, i assumed that when the guys upperbody was swalloed that his arms were inside the sharks mouth. the articles say he clawed at the sharks face with the chisel while he was still in its mouth, so i dont know. "He lashed out at the shark's head and snout with the heavy metal chisel used to prise the abalone off rocks. "He said he was a very lucky man. He pushed his abalone chisel into its head while it was biting and it let him go and swam away," said Mr Luobikis. Mr Nerhus, an experienced diver, struggled to the surface despite his injuries." |

I actually live next to the hospital he is staying at.When the shark struck, the divers head and right arm were inside the sharks mouth. The lead weighted chest vest stoped him from getting totally ripped apart. It was first a finger poke to the eye then later did he use his prying tool to the shark to help him escape.Various puncture marks around his torso and he's also suffering a broken nose when the sharks bite smashed his diving goggles. Now thats a story about being lucky!

Even Mother nature gives up to the eye gouge that should prove it's effectiveness right there.
