First, you say you just posted the picture without any comments. That's not true, though. Your comment was "bad times..." What does that insinuate? That you think what's in the picture represents "bad times," one might guess.

Second, you can't be posting for "shits and giggles" and also to "try and understand a complex situation." The two are not compatible. Either it's a joke, or it's a serious attempt to draw attention and understanding. Don't back out on your opinions now, just because I'm putting some pressure on you. You posted the picture, and commented that it represented "bad times..." What did you mean by that?
oh i didnt back out of anything.

you dont think people dying is bad times? is it good times? i wasnt reffering to what the soldiers in the pic were doing, i was reffering to the poor person whos skull is strapped to the jeep. they obviously met a tragic end, bad times for them. i didnt judge the people in the pic, i just posted the pic cause it was somewhat interesting to look at.

yeah i do try to understand the complex situation known as iraq. does that mean i cant post a propaganda video that i find humorous that i even introduce with an over the top, asinine reply?? am i the only one who saw the humor in a bunch of insurgents trying to convince us that they were actually fighting to save the entire world from the nwo??

its not the bold type assumptions that were unfair, those were just ones you decided to focus on to distract from the more ridiculous stuff you said about me.

"Gangs of Iraq" documentary

U.S. makes improbable Sunni ally in Iraq

heres a few right here. the first one i posted to show the bravery and perserverence of our troops in iraq, and their iraqi brothers who help them.

the second link was a documentary about an american unit helping train iraqi forces, and it showed how hard some americans in iraq are fighting to help iraqis.

the third thread is an article and video that shows iraqis standing up to terrorism and helping americans fight al quaeda.

you cant say that my posts arent balanced, i show multiple sides of the conflict.

look at my thread here, showing many sides of iraq. videos from insurgents, to videos showing us troops and the new iraqi army fighting side by side.

videos from iraq

I was making a [sick] joke, I'll admit. Damn my dark sense of humor.

But what has shaken me over the last few weeks was Nick Ut - the man who took that iconic photo of Kim Phúc - a young Vietnamese girl burned by napalm in 1972, taking a much pubisized photo of Paris Hilton crying in the back of an LA squad car.

The man has a right to make a living, but ****.

PS... Robert Capa rules.

I listen to NPR in the mornings as well - while its certainly a liberal radio program, its stories about the war and war efforts are more moderate-liberal and entertaining.

SOF mag is pro-military, soldier/marine supported, so you hear the stories from folks who are on the ground or whom have been there. Love the global map with its quick references to world activities.

Another great source, for geopolitical and economic analysis is The Economist magazine. Its a bit more academic in its style, never the less a great source of information from UK/EU counterparts.

I have conservative tendancies, but I too read up from alot of different sources.
