Default Shooting Sports

I thought I'd post this in its own thread for those who like watching and participating in shooting sports. I know these are just sports, but they go a very long way toward developing shooting ability you can use for real-life purposes. Like any sport, they should never be mistaken for the real deal, but some of these really challenge a shooter's ability to fire accurately under time pressure from awkward positions. Enjoy!

when i was on college, i remember visiting a certain frat house that was situated right across the street from the main campus. and i specifically remember multiple occasions were some of these frat guys would hide behind a towel they put over the window in a room on the top floor, were they would take shots at people walking to class with their cheap plastic scoped air rifle. nobody would get hurt, but they would feel the pellet hit them and turn around and look all around them in confusion. looked like a good way to build marksmanship skills, even though you may end up getting your houses raided by swat should someone see you shooting an air rifle from behind a towel covered window lol.....

First of all, no one here is stupid enough to believe you went to college - unless it was a janitor.

Second, the idea that you'd shoot people with any kind of gun - pellet, paintball, or anything else - is idiotic.

what do you have against janitors??? janitors are hardworking, humble people. why put them down for choosing to work instead of scam the government or raise money through crime like many others do??? i bet there have been many occasions were you stopped somewhere and used a toilet that was squeaky clean and you were able to relieve yourself in peace, all because of a humble hardworking man that isnt too proud to clean toilets for a paycheck. why do you constantly attack the working man michael??? now that you are mr.moneybags have you forgotten all the little people you met along the way???

I've got nothing at all against janitors. I just wanted to point out that you were completely and totally full of shit when you said you'd been to college. I mean, I can accept that maybe you have actually been to a college before, but I think trying to get us to accept the notion that you might once have been a student at a college is about as realistic as expecting the Pope to invite Osama over for a gay pride parade at an abortion clinic.

And I apologize if I offended any janitors, friends of janitors, or family members of janitors. I in no way meant to insinuate that Dick Hardman was skilled enough, motivated enough, or intellectually gifted enough to do the kind of work required of a janitor.

Maybe it was your inability to capitalize the first letters of sentences or something.

What did you go to school for?

i was studying sociology with a concentration in criminology.

the only thing college did for me is bring me back to martial arts. when i got the SJSU class schedules i noticed i had to take a PE class for general education requirements. when i looked over all the stuff i could take for PE, i noticed they had a bunch of martial arts classes. i took aikido and judo at the same time. i stopped going to the aikido class before the semester was over and got an incomplete in it because the instructors attitude was so negative, and just trained in judo. judo grabbed my interest and lead me to search out martial arts schools etc.....
