well we will see how well it worked, I let him throw kicks today, he didn't get a single hit, and pretty much got beat on, nothing hard, just lots of hits.

at one point I kicked him in the head, which he said he didn't even know what hit him because he didn't see it. he kept bugging me about it, so I told him to step out and hit him in the head again with the same kick.

he was so busy thinking about how to stop my kick he didn't really learn what hit him, and then we explained to him that he is competing with us and he needs to stop and start learning or he isn't going to improve. So we will see if it helped.

That's it, man - force him to empty empty his cup, so to speak.

Here's something I have had success with, though it's more a mental interrupt than a physical.

A guy from the neighborhood was griping to me about a buddy of his who was just hanging out with him more than he wanted him to.

Now this guy doing the griping is one of those types who knows it all, right?

Anyway, every time I bump into him he starts up with complaining about this other guy hanging out with him to much. Of, course you can't suggest anything to him because he knows it all!

Finally, I've had enough of his whining. Now, I know this guy was jumped a few years back, and his buddy, the one he's complaining about almost died coming to his rescue. So the the next time I see the whiner, just before he starts up I intercept him with, "Hey, you know, _____, you know, always, clinging on to you - I heard a couple of years ago he almost died, to bad he didn't just drop dead then, hunh - hey I gotta run, see ya," and I take off.

A few days later, I run into them talking to some girls from the neighborhood. I say, "What's up?," and the whiner replies, "Nothing. Me and my buddy, ____, here were gonna go over by ____'s later, shoot some hoops." As if they'd never had the friction!

So yeah, a little Judo, even if mental might do the trick. Anyway, that's my two cents.

Eh... he's paying $$$... keep him entertained. (Or not) I'm sure EF has weighed the benefit / cost factor already.

Break him down THEN build him up.

Convenient "accidents" have been known to happen. It might suck to pop him with an elbow or just slap him up side the head with your open paw...a head butt? Those happen on accident all the time!

OOPS!

I still think it's more humorous to land him on his ass...
I realise you're probably joking, but cheap shots don't teach someone a lesson in proper application of technique. If anything, it'll just encourage them to start cheap shotting you, as that's the lesson they'll have learned.

Actually... I was thinking less of a "cheap shot" and MORE of a wake up call.
