Default are regular people intimidated by those with a striking appearance??

as i go about my day, i ALWAYS notice that people i am passing by or close to will many times blatantly act like they dont see me for reason, even if i try to say hello or nod to them. even when i see them look at me, they will quickly lower there eyes, look away, or act like they are busy staring at something else. both men and women do this to me many times per day. im not a good looking guy, but i think my appearance is somewhat striking, as the blend of shabby clothing and muscles seems to throw people off. what do you guys think??? any of you guys seem to feel as if people are bothered/intimidated/uncomfortable around you because of your appearance??? this bothers me a bit cause im one of those people who says hello or gives a little nod to everyone i make eye contact with or meet, so i dont understand why so many people seem to react so negatively to me. or maybe i really look like oscar the grouch, i dont know. or are most people that indifferent??

Sounds like your self-conscious. Who cares? Be comfortable in your own skin.

Maybe it's in your eyes. The truth is in the eyes cause the eyes don't lie.

Have you tried bathing? Often, it's not the appearance that makes people look away from you, but the smell of sweaty, unwashed patchouli and pot construction worker that turns them off.
