Regarding the Arrest of Suspects, 5/1/2008:

There is an ongoing investigation currently underway to determine the relevant details and circumstances of the event. Unfortunately, this is a sensitive matter, and for reasons of both security and the privacy of the accused, the President has determined that no official statements can be made at this time. The President thanks the press and the public for their understanding, and would like to assure the American people that as soon as details can be made without concern for safety, and without compromising the privacy rights of the accused, he will authorize an official statement. The President maintains a deep concern for human rights, and he does not want to see the accused smeared in the press without merit. He also understands the need for objective investigation of the facts and appreciates the restraint shown by the media in waiting for facts before running stories based on heresay.

Thank You

At least six, but possibly as many as 8 U.S. citizens were arrested today on suspicion of terrorist activity. These citizens, all employees of the US government, are currently being held in federal custody in an undisclosed location. Prison and booking records, information on treatment or legal counsel was available at press time. Additionally, next to no information on which governmental agency they are members of, what charges they are being held on, whether or how they are being interrogated was available. Although newspapers have reported these men have ties with France and Iran, French and Iranian government spokespersons did not immediately return calls to comment. The suspects did have their homes searched, and Iranian ammunition containers were allegedly found in the homes of the suspects.

Amnesty International chapters in the UK have voiced concern on human rights issues related to this matter, and the ACLU has threatened a law suit.

OP ED by Noam Chomsky
The recent secret investigation of U.S. citizens is yet another injustice on part of the terrorist U.S. government, a rogue country. The president claims to be concerned with human rights, and yet is launching an unconstitutional investigation denying the right to legal counsel and writ of habeus corpus of the accused. The President claims he does not want to see the accused smeared and yet they are guilty until proven innocent. They are probably being tortured behind closed doors as you read this op-ed. The president claims to be launching an objective investigation and yet continues to violate international law in his investigation. The madness! The madness!

we the people want to know why our gas prices are so high despite the fact that we have recently acquired 2 new oil rich countries???

also, we want our government to find new fuel resources, dig for oil, do whatever we can to lower gas prices asap. many of us are insecure, or completely lack genitalia so we like to drive ridiculous penismobiles to feel better, so we need our gas prices to be as low as possible, as soon as possible so we can cruise our SUVs on spinning rims downtown in order to pick up gold digging hos. i would also like our county to do more business with china and other third world countries so the prices of goods we import from them will go down, and then i can buy a much better fake made in china rolex for less money, to make me look even better as i roll around in my SUV, yelling out tp women while i bump cliche rap music till the sound of my doors and windows shaking is louder than my actual music itself.

and while your at that, keep in mind that we the people are going to protest and get angry if you damage any of our environment while searching for any of these new resources, business interests etc....

Gasoline/fuel prices are tied to the price of crude oil. Crude oil prices are set by two intangible forces - supply & demand.

We may have influence in oil producing countries, but the go-to organization is OPEC, who ultimately controls the lion's share of foreign oil supply.

Geopolitical instability in Venezuela, Nigeria, Iraq and other nations causes negative psychological effects in crude trading markets.

Add to that a weakened dollar, compared to other currencies and we are not able to purchase as much oil from foreign sources.

Default Oil advocate speaks up.

While the oil companies are recording record profits you have to understand that crude oil is not a renewable resource.

We the oil companies are attempting to find viable resources that can perform as good as petroleum to ease the world into a new fuel source.

We are also attempting to find a way to lower emissions on current fuel and make a more bio friendly fuel for the future. This research costs large amounts of money. We need that funding to keep your rims spinning in the future.

America demands more oil than anyone and as far as the fair market goes the people of America still pay a low price for their gas compared to some places.
Also with China industrializing more everyday the demand for oil in other places raises our cost considerably. Oil companies are lobbying for the drilling in ANWAR, responsibly of course and will attempt to put as little impact on the environment as possible. But understand also that there are taxes included in the price of your gas and that is completely in the governments hands. We can only lower the cost so much as Tom said because OPEC a world organization controls the price of crude and the government controls the price of taxes.

We are a business after all and need funds to pay salaries and for insurance and pension for our workers and their families as well as for the aforementioned research to better the future.

The government and oil companies are working right now to lessen the load on the people's pocketbooks as best we can but most attempts to do so are met with negativity from the press and members of the populace. As well as from the terrorist organization Green Peace which cause delays and which also cause costs to rise with the destruction of property and loss of time due to sabotage and protests.

Thank you for your time

Allied Foreign Ministers have expressed shock over the President's oil program. Although they were upset that they were not informed earlier, they are interested in developing oil in the northern wilderness as soon as possible. Toward that end, they have offered services and equipment to get things started.

Default Special Interview!!

Special interview with Andrew Prescott Esq, who is representing the six arrested for alleged terrorism.

Q: Please provide any possible information on the U.S. citizens arrested for terrorist activity.
A: Their names are Shaun Douglas, Thomas Peterson, Vince Powers, Alena Leedeneva, George Ayittey, and Spencer Bonds. Douglas and Peterson worked for the U.S. Department of INterior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the others worked for the Department of Fish and Game.

Q:Where are they being held?
A: Our clients are being held at Red Onion Supermax Prison in Virginia.

Q: What are the charges?
A: The charges filed against our clients so far are theft of government property, conspiring to commit an act of terrorism, and collusion with a foreign entitity engaging in acts of espionage, and conspiring to commit an act of terrorism.

Q:What kind of treatment are they receiving?
A:We believe our clients were unfairly arrested and illegally searched. The case against them is purely circumstantial, and we intend to show that at trial. We've advised our clients not to speak to law enforcement, nor to answer any questions from the press. So apart from being illegally detained and imprisoned, they are being treated well.

Q:Are they being interrogated? If so, how?
A: They have been interrogated, and it was my understanding that they were interrogated for some 20 hours prior to lawyers being called. When we were brought in, we declined to answer any more questions, and the interrogations stopped.

Q:What agency are they members of?
A: Department of the Interior.

Q: Any ties to France and Iran?
A: George Ayittey is an African immigrant from Algeria and he has family currently living in France, but there are no ties to any foreign government. Alena Leedeneva is a naturalized citizen from Russia.

Q:Any information on the ammo containers allegedly found in their homes?
A: The ammunition containers that were illegally siezed from our clients homes were purchased locally at an Army-Navy store. They were used for camping supplies as coolers. I'm sorry, but I can't go into any more detail than that for fear of compromising the case.

Q: Is this type of treatment legal?
A: They are being treated ethically in prison, but their arrest and detention for such a long period without calling a lawyer is highly irregular and we intend to challenge the legality. The search and seizure of our clients' homes and property, bank accounts, and other assets is also questionable.

Q: What concerns you the most?
A: The blatant disregard of this administration for the Constitution is of great concern. The President and his minions seem to believe that they can eavesdrop on Americans with impunity, and they seem to believe that any trivial bit of circumstantial "evidence" is justification for Gestapo-like raids on the homes of Americans. I am concerned any time a President crosses that line. The violation of civil liberties in the name of paranoia and political expedience is an outrage. There seems to be a trend in this country that anytime a controversial matter enters the American consciousness - like the president's new oil policy - it's accompanied by some sudden "Terrorist Arrest" designed to get people to stop paying attention to the issues. We believe our clients are being used for this very sort of criminal distraction, because the evidence against them does not warrant their arrest and the siezure of their assets like this.

Q:Anything else you'd like to add?
A: Unfortunately, no. We are being careful to try and preserve our clients' ability to have a fair trial, and so we don't want to sensationalize this matter any more than the President and the FBI have already.

First of all I'd like to thank you all for taking time out of your busy day.

There are several topics I'd like discuss today, first I'd like to welcome Ghost to his new position as the leader of Iran. I would also like to assure you Sir, that despite recent press releases to the contrary we have no reason to suspect your Nation was in any way connected to the arrest of suspects in an ongoing Terror investigation. Hopefully today we will both receive answers as to why the peoples press chose to imply your nation was responsible for an attempted terrorist attack against our nation's fresh water supplies. Our nations enjoyed many mutually rewarding years as allies in the past and I would like to see us return to a mutually beneficial relationship in the future. In that light I ask you today on this open forum to tell the world your complaints against this Great Nation and ask what we can do to repair relations between our nations?

I'd also like to address the President of France's (Tanto1) recent offers to help us drill the ANWR and at the same time apologize to you Sir for accusations made that your nation a close and valued ally was also somehow involved in the recent terror plot in the United States of America. I have no information that would cause me to believe either of your great nations were in any way involved and ask your forgiveness and hope these accusations don't cause further harm the relations between our nations.

At this time I'd like to thank those of you who offered to help us in our drilling however I feel that due to the sensitive environmental issues and several domestic issues it would be best if the USA invested in itself so to speak at this time. I thank you for your understanding and hope this decision doesn't effect further relations.

Now I'd like to thank the American people for their vote of confidence in returning me to office. I'd also like to reassure you that we stopped a plan to poison the fresh water supply before any actions were taken that would have caused any danger to the citizens of this great nation. From all the information available to me at this time it appears this is most likely a case of domestic terrorism. I'd also like to apologize to the Citizens for the extremely high gas prices. As many of you know the price of oil is driven by speculation, this means that when incidents occur that effect the relations of nations Oil prices tend to go up. Which of course you're seeing at the pumps now due to the stress of accusations made by the "Peoples press" that Iran and France were involved in a Terror plot against the USA.

Which brings me to the People's press. I'd like to know why and on what basis you decided to defy my request for cooperation and chose instead to print inflammatory and unfounded accusations against our allies as well as Nations with whom we are currently experiencing diplomatic speed bumps? You may have endangered the nation by spooking any remaining accomplices into going underground only to rise again later. You also unsettled international relations thus causing oil prices to rise further due to speculation. I'd like you to explain your motivations please as well as know how you have information such as origin or manufacture of components used in the plot?

I'd like the State Dept to look into what type of stocks and investments the peoples press has as well as an investigation into the financial transactions and any possible ties of the peoples press to interest outside the USA. It's the presses obligation to report the news, not to manufacture it in order to further their own bottom line at the expense of the nations physical and financial security.

Once again thank you for your time.

Default Gas Tax Holiday?

Well Mr President I would like to ask if maybe possible that congress could discuss a Gas Tax holiday?

Possibly on Labor Day weekend. It would stimulate more people to travel which would generate revenue for the economy. And possibly show the voters there may be one politician not so crooked?

I think the nation would benefit more if Big oil gave us a holiday.

Last year, Exxon made the biggest profit of any company ever, $36 billion, and its retiring chairman appears to be reaping the benefits.

Exxon is giving Lee Raymond one of the most generous retirement packages in history, nearly $400 million, including pension, stock options and other perks, such as a $1 million consulting deal, two years of home security, personal security, a car and driver, and use of a corporate jet for professional purposes.

Seems to me Exxon is in a better position to give something back than the pittance the Tax holiday would accomplish.

I understand 30% of my personal assets are in oil, I'd like to liquidate those stocks, and divide the money up between America's households according to need, the more you have, the less you get, as my way of giving back to the nation, this should also dispel any notions of my attempting to profit from ANWR drilling. Big oil the ball is in your court now.

Well at this time all I am able to guarantee is the oil companies sending a $100.00 gas card to ever America of legal driving age starting from January 1st this year.

Anything more than that would have to be considered by the boards of the companies.

I have a feeling with the drilling in ANWR being a go now that domestic prices should start dropping once we see results from that proposal.
