These people get picked on every year. Candidates love to spout populist messages. When they go to get cash though they go to that 5% and then they tell them what's really up.

They say: you give me the cash I do what you want.

lolol actually i do genuinely think that both will be ok.
The elections are fair and the public gets what the public wants, some are going to be disappointed, but thats politics.
SO really id say good luck to both and let the public have what they want.
    (providing its Obama)

    Ok ok whoever they want.

I am afraid we are in for a lot of pain. And since the world is tied to our economy that pain is going to be world wide.

i dont think either of the candidates can do a great deal about the current economic position. it will take time, the whole world is affected. I cant see one man fix it overnight.

A funny thing happened to me the other day

Welcome to the Socialist States of Amerika . Coming soon Jan 20th 2009!

A funny thing happened to me the other day (on November 4th). I was in Denver Colorado on business and the folks who arranged my hotel put me up in the very hotel where the Colorado democratic election party was being held. Lucky me, you all know what a staunch conservative I am. My Wife who accompanied me thought it was the funniest thing ever.

So after dinner I bought a McCain/Palin t-shirt and wore it around the hotel, as you can imagine I was the hit of the party.

As I was talking to one Obama supporter a gentleman wearing an Obama sticker on his lapel walked past. He looked just like Hugo Chavez and I called out “Hugo”. He turned to talk me and asked me why I called him Hugo. I explained how he looked like a short version of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez. He proceeded in a very excited state to tell me how wonderful he thought Hugo Chavez is and what great things he has done for his people.

It occurred to me at that moment (though the results weren’t in yet) just how many Bill Ayers, Rev Wright’s, Hugo Chavez’s, Ahmadinejad’s, and Hamas militant’s, in other words America haters, will soon be celebrating an Obama victory. That nearly sobered me up, thankfully my new acquaintance little Hugo bought me another beer.

Wearing the McCain T-shirt made me popular among the Obama revelers and in my many conversations I observed that “change” really had no specific definition other than change means anything other than Bush and that electing a black president somehow erases the guilt and shame liberals have for America. Those two things were what everyone was talking about. Never mind the issues—I was dealing with well dressed but uneducated or uncaring folks when it came to the issues proving (reinforcing) that the liberal argument is based on emotionalism rather on fact and causality.

Will Obama with a house and senate controlled democrat majority govern from the center? Or will he move to the left? Obama talks a good game about bipartisanship but he selects Rahm Emanuel as White House chief of staff who is anything but bipartisan. Emanuel is a partisan pit-bull and a product of Chicago political thuggery.

Only time will tell how he’ll govern but he was one of the most liberal state senators in Illinois and the most liberal senator in the US senate, even more liberal than Ted Kennedy. A conservative equivalent might be Rush Limbaugh or worse a Rev. Jerry Farwell who republicans would never have selected as their candidate.

And don’t forget the far extreme left contributed 80 million dollars to Obama’s campaign and expect him to deliver. Not to mention the fact “wealth redistribution” is one of the primary tenants of the far left.

Obama wants to increase government spending by nearly a trillion dollars, 800 million on global poverty, 2 billion to build schools in the Middle East for his Arab supporters, nationalize just about everything that can be nationalized and raise taxes (confiscate wealth) on the most successful Americans while cutting defense spending which are all leftist policies. Some of this might do some Americans good while others are just feel good measures and some will do down right harm to an already vulnerable economy.

I think that many things Obama promised in his campaign will be left undone mostly because of the economy. But people have such high expectations of Barrack Obama (although they seem to have a difficult time articulating the particulars) I wonder how many of them will be left disappointed in 4 years.

The other day I decided to run some figures. So for all of these bleeding hearts I have a questions that so far None of them have been willing to answer.

It is a simply question and yet no one seems to be able to answer. So here it is.

How much of every dollar I earn is mine?

To follow up on this, and to point out the blatant hypocrisy of the thinking that we are going to eliminate poverty I looked up the average income for the population of the earth. To keep it simple it comes up to right around 7K US a year. Now we have extreme outliers here, several standard deviations from the mean. meaning we have people making hundreds of dollars a year, and billions a year.

Now to those who say we need to eradicate poverty, I ask if you are prepared to live on 7K a year. Because to make the playing field fair you are going to have to give away everything about 7K that you make and give it to someone else.

If this sounds like a workable solution for you that we should all follow then I say, "you first"

The only thing that creates poverty is financial success. If you even everything out, you don't make everyone rich, you make everyone poor.

Yes, I am the irrational one, because calling for bigger government, an increase in spending, and more regulations to fix what big government, out of control spending, and over regulation broke is so rational.

And confiscation of privately owned property in the name of fairness is rational?

My kids fight all the time, “It isn’t fair he gets to sit in the front seat. “It’s not fair she got to stay home from school (never mind it was because she was sick).” Her piece of cake is bigger than mine.” Liberals are like children victimized by everything and always complaining about how unfair everything is.

So tell me XF, how much more is Obama going to kill you financially?
So as long as it doesn’t affect you personally it is okay for the government to steal property from others. The problem is it does affect you, it does when those trying to protect their money move their businesses off shore, it effects you when they raise the costs of their products and services, and if the gov can confiscate the wealth from those who make >250K what is going to stop them form taking from those who make 150K…When does it stop? A government that is allowed to take from Paul to pay peter can also take from peter if it sees fit to do so. Why give them that power in the first place? The constitution doesn’t give the government that power, wealth confiscation is unconstitutional and Obama has even admitted it (but he’ll do it anyway).

At the end of the day it will be the middle class paying for those 250K and above getting plundered.
