Gents
I just read an interview with GW Bush and he said that he didnt believe in Evolution. He didnt think that it was a scientific fact. This is scary!! I know that he isnt the brightest bulb in the house, but not believing in Evolution!? Just what we need in the WHitehouse. I want all you kids to study your chemistry hard and learn all four elements: earth, air, fire and water. Do you think he doesnt believe in Evolution because he didnt understand the idea?! Maybe its got too many syllables? E |

Ronin,
I read it in some magazine over the weekend. I dont remember the specific one, but I do think that it is credible. Given his whole born again think, I am not that surprised. One professor recently mentioned the GW phrase,"the soft bigotry of low expectations" and said that it really applied to us allowing GW to run for president when he is so stuiped! We should insist that a person at least be moderately intelligent and have some interest in policy issues and world affairs to be president I thought that it was rather humorous. E |

i dont understand the whole arguement between evolution and creationism.. i heard that there was this whole thing in the states and the school system weather or not to allow them to teach evolutionism.. i mean, thats just dumb.. the time in which people believed in creationism was when that was all they had to explain why they were their.. tehy also believed that the world was flat, believed in which hunts, ect ect..
i think creationism and evolutionism can be viewed as the same thing.. Evolution was the method in which God used to creat us.. it just seems so obvious.. |

chop youre right and wrong.I can accept that God(which I dont believe in)used evolution as his way of creating the world and the bible presents a simple version of this.Creationism ,however,as it is stated by creationists who are politically active, states that the bible is literally true, that the earth is around 5000 years old, that the whole of creation came about in 7 days(168 hours) ,and that all the species that exist today were created at the begining.Dont confuse the two, true creationism is anti scientific and leaves no room for disagreement.

Gents,
I agree that you can believe in God and also use your brain and realize that Evolution is a very well documented theory with much empirical support. But the creationism people usually get dogmatic about their beliefs and insist that people didnt evolve from lower animal species. This is where they become blathering idiots. I am rather troubled that we could have a president who advocates being the 'education president' but is unable to discern scientific fact from a glorified folk tale! Can he really be this stuiped and narrow minded?! Its disturbing to see that 2 years at Harvard, 4 years at Yale and 4 years at Andover failed to instill any real powers of rational thinking in the man. E |

Oh no..... not another one of these... Being religious means being intelligent, and looking for answers in the scientific world, while keeping faith in things beyond your control. Please read Thomas Aquinas, or Augustine if you are looking for creative, and scientific thinkers in the realm of science and religion. Don't take uneducated, and blind followers "views" as what religion really is... ....if I had a girlfriend I would be more interested in this debate... Anyone want to see my dancing man?

yeah, i agree taht people tend to get dogmatic with this whole creationism thing.. i was debating this with my religion teacher (im not catholic, but i go to a catholic school).. it just seems that people that just say all this sh!t bout reading the bible like the ultimate truth miss the point entirely... it was meant for people to live their lives and not be locked in what poeple had done in the past.. thousands of years ago.. what applied than may not apply now, because people change and evolve.. its like they are hiding behind the whole God created everything stuff so they dont have to try and loook at it differently. and how can the world have been made 5000 years ago if they were civilizations more than 10,000 years ago? it seems taht they are locked in the past and hide behind the books and dont know how to apply it to modern day everyday life.. hmm.. sounds a little like some martial artists to me..
