I have witnessed some very funny and stupid things at football matches.
I used to do security work for matches, and on one occasion, I got sent into the North bank(where the hooligans congrigate) to stop about 100 yobs, fighting each other from the same team. Myself and one other security guy who was the other side of 50 years old. What they expected us to do, god only know ? perhaps walk up to them and politely say "excuse me chaps, I wonder if you wouldnt mind awfully not doing that "! and they'd all turn round and say "sorry sir" ! Another time I saw these brainless yobs, see a car that just so happened to be the colour of the opposing team and the driver just so happened to have a top on of a similar colour, and so they tipped his car over and set it alight, luckily he managed to escape ! He wasnt even a football supporter ! peacefull country the UK |

well we have had our share of hooligans in the past but they mainly fought eachother, even goign so far as so meet at an agreed place ( they used cellphones and the internet)
but during one of the first times one person died, so after that it was clamped down hard by the police Is it still that bad in the UK? Well at least they seem to behave when they are abroad

Actually there was no hidden agenda, i was being serious.
And look what happened. We all agree Americans and the British are quite similar and we do get on. Just look at this discussion, shows why our governments get on so well if its anything like this. I think i was correct. The Yanks are welcome across the pond here in Britain anytime as far as im concerned.

Thai Bri, most Americans don't know about chips & mashed peas
Doesn't hurt to visit your neighbors every once in a while. Chips vs Fries is like apples vs. oranges.

The term is mushy peas......MUSHY peas!
I went coast to coast in the States when I'd finished my degree. For them chips are what we call crisps! That caused me loads of confusion, and loads of disappointment at meal times, I tell you! |

Yea we have food down here that you won't find anywhere else. I have been to some other states that try to copy some of the stuff but if you want it right you have to come down here for it.
I have been alot of places and I have to say that we have some of the most unique and best tasting foods you can find. Most people come down here and they won't eat the stuff cuz cajun food doesn't look all that great but it taste awesome. It's definately worth trying if you are ever out this way. |

I hope to travel to America one day as you can tell i like what i know of it.
Sometimes you see Cajun food in films and it does look afwful but at the same time it looks like it tastes nice. Im sure it does. We Brits dont have much im afraid. Its fish and chips in an old newspaper. Im sure you can try that anywhere.

I have never had fish and chips but I would like to try that someday just to see what it is like cuz I always here the brits talk about it. Seems like it would get old though eating the same thing all the time. Guess that is like us americans and our hamburgers and french fries......lol

True.
Fries came from Pommes Frites (Belgium?) Apple Pie is appel tart (Dutch) Pizza & Spaghetti - Self explanatory Tacos, burritos, enchilada -Mexico Waffles - (Belgium) Pancakes - (Dutch) Beer (Germans) Hotdogs (Germans) Most folks in Houston don't really know cajun food. Zatarain's mix doesn't count; it takes real cooking experience.
