The general rule of thumb is don't say anything in a post you wouldn't say face to face.

Yes, they were handled differently. You had already used up your reservoir of credibility. Ms. J., a relative newcomer, had not. Some of the moderating was also handled by ryanhall through a private channel. In any case, bad conduct, any conduct for that matter, of another does not excuse you of being responsible for your actions.

Interesting....

Bri has been posting on the forum for over a year and provides good info, great humor, and ever the amusing contraversy. By far one of the more productive members of the forum and he gets cut less slack than someone who is A) a newbie to the forum, B) takes up a gig or more of hard drive for each novella post, and C) is just as guilty of posting ad hominem as anyone else?

Personally, I think Ryan and Terry are doing a good job reigning in on the monster that is MSDF. It is a LOT better around here than it was a few months ago. However, as a moderator it is often best to use the same rules for everyone...

Unless of course they are English. Then simply ban that arse.

hey, i just came on here and saw a post that seemed to be singling out terry's moderation and criticizing it, followed immediately by a post saying "no offense." it gave me the usual reaction to anyone who does that...

if you can't take a joke over your posts, it's not my ****ing problem. i really feel not bad at all.

Actualy it was just a joke, you're right people do say "no offense" when they clearly do mean offense. I shouldn't have said anything about terry.

But hey, it's not my fault if you can't take a joke...
