Hey, I was just wondering how many people have fast cars in here and if anyone races them. I used to have a '96 Pontiac Trans Am that I ran an 11.18 1/4 mile with at the track right before I wrecked it. Right now the fastest thing I have is an '03 Honda Accord coupe V6. It's suprisingly fast though running mid to low 14's off the lot. Fixing to start putting some parts on it soon as they start coming out. I would really like to get it down in the low 13's.
Give us something to talk about besides MA.

I have a silver 1998 Pontiac Trans Am...first year of the LS1. It's for sale (PM if you might be interested in a car with TONS of potential to go faster)...only mods left on it are SLP Loudmouth exhaust and a super short shifter. Used to have strut tower brace, adjustable panhard rod, and intake lid. Never ran it in the 1/4.

why would i get a cobra if i could get a lancer evolution-500-600 horsepower stock. not sure but i think the cobra costs more too. i prefer the japanese manufactors (however you spell it). they last you for a lot longer. like mitsubishi(my personal favorite), toyota(the kind i have now), honda i heard was real reliable. for american made cars i would say dodge is the best.
and another thing a cobra would look badass. but i think riding in the evolution with custom paint and neon lights like in fast and furious. damn!!!!! that would look sweet. and not only can you street race with that but you can go offroading with it because it was previously used for rally races. with summary- my favorite is mitsubishi lancer evolution

I could do the same thing with my accord and just drop all the weight from the creature comforts and get the speed the Evo has. Running 13's compared to running low 14's is not that big a difference, all I would have to do is drop 600lbs. off the car and gain another second in the 1/4. If I had to say one foreign made car that was sold over here that was flat out bad it would be the old RX-7. The rotary engine besides being very reliable and easy to work on was extemely easy to hop up too. My buddy owns a shop and builds street racers for a living and that is his favorite car to hop up and he has several with over 600+hp. |

Wow...Dodge is the best? Haha....Top 5 car manufacturers, per JD Power and Associates
1. Toyota 2. Honda 3. GM 4T. Nissan & Ford Nowhere on there is Mitsubitchy. I know a ton of guys with DSMs and 3SI's around here and they all have problems with their cars...trannies, crankwalk, etc. Rotaries aren't very reliable either....apex seals, the entire engine needing to be replaced every 60-70K miles. They are good powerful motors, but not what one would call reliable. I'll take a Z06 over any car mentioned thus far in here. A 4th Gen Toyota Supra TT would be my #1 car that I could actually buy right now...with an 03 Cobra being my next choice. As for Dodge, I'll take a Mopar stage 3 300hp Neon over any other 4 banger on the market.

Bone stock it ran low 14's like you mentioned above. The key is figuring out how to launch an awd car. As far as EVO there made a Europe/UK only version of the EVO I believe it was a GSR with 450hp ,but you are right no stock 500-600hp versions. Bill |
