Iv'e heard that in Japan bowing isn't even an issue. Thats because they have seen the suffering that kinda bullshit has caused.If you want to bow you can who cares but they don't force the issue.They say people in america act more japanese than the japanese. What are people so insecure about that they feel so threatened. Its because bowing is used to control people
to control their thinking. That shows why those instructors worry about it instead of modernising their thinking.

I don't want to digress to something like racism or debate what religion is the right one. I am trying to have this about inclusion
not exclusion. The conversation may include some tongue in cheek comments but seriously some of what I say is true .People do take advantage of others and when you are aware sometimes it might help to speak up.
In U.S. Judo there is a big debate along with federal lawsuits because people have been kicked out of contests and even banned because of the level of control and manipulation exibited by the forced bowing situation . One of the national judo organizations recently spent over $300.000 dollars defending a lawsuit from the forced bowing issue, money that could have been spent on alot of other things like youth judo programs or even raising the level of our olympic competition. They actually won the lawsuit on the grounds that not enough people have complained, but ironicaly they were forced to change the rule anyway because of threat of another lawsuit!

You made me burst out laughing more than once . You got me on a couple of occasions . I am 5 ft.11 in 285lb power lifter Judo black belt. I been hit with guns, bar glasses baseball bats got about 15 scars on my face numerous broken and missing teeth.I beat up my football coach when I was in the ninth grade and I bet my mama hits harder then you ever did. Funnything though I never have started a fight in my life I just seem to attract people that need a little education. Funny they don't seem to ever need more than that first lesson.

It is good sportsmanship thing like shaking hands. We don't want people beating up there coaches. It against what judo is about.
