JKD. My GF is training in an art based on JKD and she is 5'4" and she has damn near knocked out guys where were 6'5" and did work out.
I have no experience in martial arts but I wouldn't mind taking up one. The thing is i'm quite short, 5 foot 3 inches, so my strength can never match someone who works out moderately. So either I learn a martial that suits my stature or carry a taser around with me :P . But seriously, seeing some martial arts like aikido makes me think I could mever make effectve use of thoes moves. For example, you wouldn't see a 5 foot 3 inches person giving a 7 foot person an effective uppercut.
I think a martial art suitable for me would make use of pressure points and using the opponents weight against them. whatever that might be. if mixing martial arts is needed, please advise.
thank you all in advance ^_^

A low center of balance is an asset in JUDO!![]()
"In all countries where personal freedom is valued, however much each individual may rely on legal redress, the right of each to carry arms - and these the best and the sharpest - for his own protection in case of extremity, is a right of nature indelible and irrepressible, and the more it is sought to be repressed the more it will recur."

thanx for the replies guys ^_^
For that kindof body style, a grappling art would be best. Shorter limbs and smaller body stature means a lower center of gravity, which gives you an edge.
Come to think of it, my wrestlin and judo coaches were all short, one of my judo coaches is your exact height.
I agree with BJJ, anything involved with grapples, joint locks and throws.
